Some choice quotes from the article include:

“I know that Boente has a really strong hold over Vitali. He’s a bit of a puppet to Boente and does what he’s told.

“Charr, for instance, was someone that Boente really wanted Vitali to fight. Don’t ask me why as no one had ever heard of Charr, but they’re the type of fights Boente wants.”

I always thought Vitali was the boss of Boente :huh

Haye is probably talking **** again, though.

    Meaningless crap.

Yep - the manager is the problem

He was in agreement that winner of haye chisora was to get the fight - at the presser he said that now he is a bit more worried about his cut and the high chance vitali gets sparked.

I wish I could give you an answer, but I dont know. All of us on his team are waiting as well. I understand its a tough decision and takes time.

last I talked to him (mid Jan) he hadn't decided yet

Chef, I don't mean to be disrespectful to him but surely there's some truth to the statement. I wouldn't go as far as saying he's a puppet but vitali has gone on record a few times saying he wants to fight haye, yet boente has said no and the fight hasn't taken place. I obviously don't know what's been going on in terms of negotiations and I'm not even saying that haye deserves the fight. Buy vitali has said he wants haye, so why is bernd seemingly so against it? It does look as if bernd is calling the shots

im being totally honest.... its dealing with team Haye... so many ups and downs with that guy and contracts over the years..... . I do know Haye has had at least 2 chances to fight Vitali and didn't .... im not sure what happening now.... IMO I dont think Vitali is talking Haye now because he is deciding if he still has the fire in him to keep fighting.

I totally agree with everyone that a Haye Vitali fight would be cool.... but Vitali needs to decide if he wants to fight FIRST... then if he does they will pick the who, what where and why... fighting Haye or NOT fighting Haye has nothing to do with Vitali deciding if he wants to retire... 2 different things...

like I said..Retire or NOT retire FIRST, then if fighting on, who, what ETC

Boente doesnt make final decisions about fights. Boente, Vitali, Finkle, and Fritz decide what, where, who, why

Chef - Thanks for the answer.

Im sure vitali remembers Lewis going through the same thing

Its haye or retire imo. - Wembley 90,000 and much respect or retire

Imo making it an "away" fight makes it better for vitali. even if he loses he gets respect for that.

Taking another fight makes it a duck but retiring i will say the same as for Lewis.

Chef - You must have met Boente - he is a sociopath. The second offer for example was AFTER haye signed for Chisora - the tactics he (not chef) uses are a disgrace - I agree with Adam Boothe who said it to VK's face.

Seriously?, I hope you're not being serious for your own sake there. Of course Haye is talking garbage as usual. Haye doesn't deserve any shot after the disgrace against Wladimir and his toe excuse that followed. Though seeing how terrible the division is, anyone with an attitude deserves a shot these days. It's a good fight I would definitely tune in, but Haye is securing another undeserved payday based on talking smack and only that.

Well, my opinion of the article is simple...

Fact 1: Haye wants to fight Vitali.

Fact 2: Vitali wants to fight Haye.

Fact 3: Boente doesn't want the Haye fight.

Fact 4: Boente has a big say within Team Klitschko.

On that basis, what Haye is trying to do is very, very simple... He's trying to goad Vitali into the fight, by playing up to Vitali's ego, and pride.

That way, no matter what Boente says, Vitali will be hell bent on fighting Haye.

Haye gets his payday, and shot again redemption. Vitali gets his 'legacy' fight.

    Boente has a heart attack.

It's win win in my opinion :D

If the Klitschko's told CHEF the moon is made out of cheese he would believe them. The fact that other boxers have had problems dealing with team Klitschko's and no one other than the klitschkos has had no problems with team Haye shows which team is the real problem.

K2 promotions are a disgrace to boxing.

Haye is the one giving Vitali a payday. Learn about the business of boxing before you spout your drivel.
