:patsch If only you had a clue what a contract really said. I'm pretty sure you don't have a copy of one to back up anything you pull out of your ass.

    Not my post but:

Posted this elsewhere, guess now's a good time to expand on it a little.
Below is a list of boxers who have had trouble negotiating with the Klitschkos:

    Tua - "Lowball offer"
    http://www.***********.com/?m=show&id=31461

    Toney - "Chump Change"
    http://www.boxnews.com.ua/en/news/26...ON-NOVEMBER-11-

Dimitrenko - "Mutual benificial terms, not those being offered by K2"
    http://www.***********.com/?m=show&id=31865

Adamek - "The Klitschko brothers offer their opponents little money. If they want to fight me and offer the right amount of money, I will fight them."
    http://blackathlete.net/artman2/publ...The_Rock.shtml

    Lennox Lewis -
    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/boxing...-Interview.php
Lewis: At one time, we tried to make this fight and his promoter was lying to the Klitschko brothers and overpriced himself trying to get extra money. I feel good and confident about the fight and I am ready to go.

Maybe they learned from an old promoter eh?

Mormeck - asking for "too much money" -
    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=25176&more=1

Haye - "contract an utter joke"
    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=19316&more=1

    Povetkin - "Slave Contract"
    http://www.***********.com/?m=show&id=29484

Valuev - "Conditions which were offered by Vitali which didn't satisfy my promoters or me"
    http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/qa-nikolay-valuev-54147

Chisora - signing a 3 fight deal he was "told to keep silent about"
    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=25536&more=1

    Byrd - "This is crazy"
    http://www.fighthype.com/community/i...0&#entry489035

Briggs 2006 - "Shelly Finkel and Wladimir Klitschko @$#@$#ed me, The contract that they sent me to fight Wlad was so thick and had so much red tape that it would have put me into slavery."
    http://ringsidereport.com/?p=1136

Solis - “The offer we got from the Klitschko side are not what we have been expecting. In addition they don’t want to comply to any of our requests. We have made a counter offer but so far they didn’t respond to that"
    http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/soli...litschko-71602

Fury - “The thing is with the Klitschkos, yeah, it’s all their way or no way. They want to give me peanuts to fight, them, yeah, they want it in Germany, they want options on me. They want everything — they want it all their own way. So why would I do that?"
    http://www.boxinginsider.com/headlin...#ixzz1d6pVMVi2

Replace the * with the scene to view link.

So are they cowards? Should they be grateful? Are they fools for passing up a great opportunity?
Or are they looking at the K2 contracts and thinking "Is this a joke?".

    Discuss.

*Edited to add Chris Byrd, Briggs, Solis, Fury

Tua was offered more to fight Shane Cameron than he was against a Klitschko. It's pathetic. Are world title shots really less valuable than fights against regional fighters? They shouldn't be, yet the Klitschko offers are so poor, they are. If Price or Fury wanted to earn big money, they'd make FAR more against each other, than against a Klitschko.

    That still bugs you! :)

..Audley Harrison would have not made million pounds against a Klitschko.

You have to differentiate between mandatory contracts (Povetkin, Solis) and voluntary contracts (all the rest).

Mandatory contracts have fixed purse splits and no mandatory rematch clauses. Therefore there is *NOTHING* a mandatory challenger will have to sign that he doesn't want to sign. No slave options, no "low ball" purses. Therefore you listing Povetkin and Solis reveals how you were just mindlessly copying & pasting rather than thinking for a moment.

Voluntary challengers have no rights, they bring nothing to the table. If Fury wants a voluntary title shot he gets a **** offer. What does he expect? To be handed a no-options 3 million quid offer from Wlad for a voluntary defense? If Fury wanted a proper contract why doesn't he simple become mandatory challenger. Oh wait, obviously you don't become mandatory by fighting low risk opponents like Kingpin Johnson (who came off a loss) or Cunningham (coming of a fresh loss). If Fury wants to become mandatory challenger then he will have to start taking a risk and get an eliminator shot.

Let's remember how the K brothers got their belts. They NEVER bitched about 'low ball offers'. They never bitched about '**** contracts'. They became mandatory challengers (Wlad: Won against Peter, then won against Byrd), Vitali (mandatory challenger to Peter via the WBC's 'champion in recess' option).

See the K brothers worked hard to get their belts, they never whined, they never complained about others. They put the work in and reaped the rewards. You have guys like Tua, Toney or Fury who talk a lot and whine a lot, but in reality are too lazy and incapable of becoming mandatory challengers themselves. Why is that? :deal

Contrary to popular belief there are no shortcuts to reaching the top, not in boxing nor in everyday business life. If you are unwilling to put in the necessary blood, sweat and tears you won't succeed.
