Benn would of knocked 40 year old Roy unconscious. Calzaghe landed over 300 power shots and couldn't even drop him.

Nigel Benn was just being modest.

Eubank has said on many occasions that Benn was by far the hardest puncher he ever faced.

I recall when Eubank got floored by Calzaghe, he got up, smiled and nodded in a show of acknowledgement where as when he took Benn's punches in their first fight, he was wincing in pain and even after Eubank won the fight he told the post fight interviewer, he couldn't talk because he was in too much pain.

Benn, particularly at middle-weight, was right up their at the top with Jackson and McLellan in terms of being one of the hardest punchers out there.

When all's said and done Calzaghe has never been a hard puncher and has another poster has said, he relied on volume to win fights.

benn is just over polite about calzaghe but who knows maybe he was being a bit tongue in cheek saying i hit eubank with my best shots and nothing but feather fisted calzaghe decks him

benn had murderous power calzaghe just caught an older eubank off balance and landed a nice shot eubank wasn't that dazed tbh

:patsch That was shot, bloated, brittle boned Calzaghe that beat Jones.
Benn was talking prime Calzaghe that was putting Eubank down

Calzaghe certainly hit harder than it appeared. There was a post on this website - I'll see if I can find it in a moment - where a whole host of fighters Calzaghe beat talked about his power and how hard he hit, and most of them said, if I remember correctly, that he hit harder than they expected him to.

Though I doubt he had the raw power of Benn the accumilation of punches could be just as effective.

Not if he was out cold on the floor because he most certainly would have been had he fought Benn in his prime.
