Edgar nearly got his head kicked off in the 3rd. It was a clear Aldo round. Joe was being a ****** tonight and I don't know why as he is usually pretty straight up. He was screaming Aldo was gassing and hanging his mouth open when Aldo was stuffing takedowns and smiling Just because Frankie did "better" in the 3rd than the first two rounds, does NOT mean he won the next round.
That's your opinion. One headkick to me that grazes him doesn't make me score the round. To me he outstruck him in the third, it wasn't clear at all. Rogan wasn't talking **** at all. It's just like people do not want to give Frankie Edgar any credit, as if its his fault he gets in close fights and how the judges score the fight. Guy comes back from two rounds that look to be a whitewash and wins the fourth and the fifth. I'm not scoring rounds to Aldo because he lands a flashy kick or a punch off the cage, I score by output or how bad someone is hurt. And Rogan didn't say "WOW JOSE ALDO IS GASSED" so I don't understand the problem. He said he's tiring, not 'he's tired'. Opening your mouth and breathing is a sign of slowing down. If you can't admit that, then I don't know what to say to you.
..yes he did, he caught a leg kick and put him on his butt with a right hand to the face. Toss up round. I liked frankie.
Grazed him? His nose was pouring blood from that kick for most of the bout after. I didn't score a round for Aldo because of flash either or punches of the cage. I had it 3-2 Aldo, which appears to be the consensus.
Here's something you should know. If many people disputed a round, then it's not a 'clear' round. Say you thought he won the round, you don't even have to say "It was close" if you believe he just outworked him, but don't say it was clear, because it ****ing wasn't, because there wouldn't be controversy.
I thought Aldo took the first two rounds clearly. I thought Edgar took the fourth Clearly. Aldo did good stuff in the first half of the third, Edgar did good stuff in the latter half. Aldo was clearly landing the harder shots in every round. I leaned toward Aldo in the third, and I leaned toward him in the fifth as well. Edgar was more active, but he was like a mosquito buzzing around. Similar to the Henderson fights, where it looks like he is landing some good shots, but the opponents face doesn't really show much wear. While his face looks like he is getting beaten into a pulp. It was a good scrap. I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch. Aldo's bad cardio though, is what made it a good scrap. Edgar couldn't really do a damn thing, while Aldo had gas in the tank. That is why Aldo owned the first two and a half rounds of the fight clearly.
You make it sound like it rocked Edgar, which it didn't. It did damage. Good kick. But I guess Frankie's work doesn't count because its not busting noses open.
Turn off the sound and watch again... Aldo 3-2 easy and a case could be made for 4-1 Rogan was doing the same for Overeem and it backfired
Yeah, maybe if Edgar hadn't gotten his nose kicked in by a Silva-esque high front kick, you could make a case that the round would have been close. But since that was obviously the best strike of the round, in a round where Aldo, at the very least, kept pace with Edgar in terms of strikes landed while preventing the takedown. Gotta give a round like that to Aldo every time.
