By accomplishments I mean title defenses/achievements

    for example:
    winner of the ss
    Unified champion
    voted fighter of 2011

    etc etc

Sure, that has some bearing on how we rate peoples accomplishments but it does not determine the accomplishments themselves. The actual accomplishments of the men in the plainest terms are:

Calzaghe: WBO, WBC, WBA, IBF and The Ring Super Middleweight Champion. The Ring Light Heavyweight Champion.

Ward: WBC, WBA and The Ring Super Middleweight Champion.

As you can see, in the plainest of terms, Calzaghe accomplished more than Ward currently has. Ward may yet surpass Calzaghe's achievement but he hasn't right now.

Ward for me. No one gave Ward a shot in this fight and many Calzaghe fans actually expected him to get iced within 4 rounds. Inexperienced Ward exposing Kessler to the overrated fighter he really is far more impressive than Calzaghe fighting yet another opponent he goes in as a safe favorite against.

    Calzaghe's best wins :

    Hopkins
    Kessler
    Eubank
    Lacy
    Reid
    Mitchell
    Brewer
    Woodhall
    Bika

    Ward's best wins:

    Kessler
    Froch
    Abraham
    Bika

    Let's compare more directly:

Kessler - Kessler - Joe beat a younger, better version of Kessler

Hopkins - Froch - No contest, Hopkins easy

Lacy - Abraham - About equal

Bika - Bika - Joe beat a younger, better Bika

Eubank - Edison Miranda - Eubank easy

    Reid - ?

    Mitchell - ?

    Brewer - ?

    Woodhall - ?

So no, Joe clearly has the edge here

Though Ward is obviously only 28, and has had far less fights than Joe did.

Calzaghe had many more fights than Ward, so consistency has to go to Joe, but once again Ward is still young and has a lot more fights left in him (hopefully he can stay injury free when his shoulder's better)

    Accomplishments: Ward[/quote]

As it's already been pointed out by other posters, Calzaghe won all 4 titles, and travelled to America to beat the no.1 LHW, so once again Joe's is better.

Though it must be noted that Ward is only 28 and improving with each fight, so it's not really worth making the comparison at this stage. Ward's best wins and achievements could be yet to come.

YES , because he ****ing WON. How is your best performance a loss. Thats stupidity.
With with Joe , Kessler was fighting a lesser opponent than Froch and Ward so he looked better. That Joe had a fight with 43 year old Hop that could of went either way. Amazing how his eye problems dissapear when hes beating Froch and kncking guys out left right and center.

Lacy is not a good win. He was and always will be a joke and a hypejob. Brewer, Mitchel and Woodhall are all nobody's.

I'm sorry, I appear to be seeing someone call Hopkins **** at 43 years old. Sure, let us completely ignore the fact that the Boxing world considered him the best Light Heavyweight active in 2008 before he lost to Calzaghe and continued to think him the top Light Heavyweight right up until his fights with Dawson in 2011/2012. Of course Hopkins had to be a washed up shell of a fighter because Calzaghe got the win instead of him, never mind the fact that Hopkins is considered an all time great Light Heavyweight and all of his achievements in the division occured when he was over 40 years old and most of them occured after he lost to Calzaghe.

NO, Froch is his best ****ing victory but not nearly his best performance, clear as ****ing daylight to anyone without a ****ing agenda. :lol:Froch and Ward have achieved more than Calzaghe i can agree, but H2H Froch is not nearly as good as Calzaghe, that my friend is ****ing stupid:lol::patsch. Kessler's eye problems do not just disapear when he's knocking people out left right and centre that again is ****ing stupid to suggest, i've been saying for ages that Kessler's skills are on the wane, in my opinion he loses to Froch now, i simply dont think he's got enough left in the tank.

:lol:Different weights, Hopkins turned down a fight when both were pretty much prime. Roy as a light heavyweight would have been slaughtered for taking on a fighter a division lower and far less popular in America. Please do some research, you're embarrassing yourself.

Joe was killing himself at SMW and held off on moving up for years because he was happy feasting on bums.
