Reem's loss gave me mixed feelings.

He gassed... He had zero respect for Bigfoot... He had no gameplan... He has switched up his training numerous times in the last 2 years... He was too heavy... He wasn't even thinking it was possibl or Bigfoot to touch him standing.

A bad combo right there.

He's ruined everything! I hope he knows that!

Overeem usually loses when he faces the upper class. Overeem has always had stamina issues, and he doesn't have the greatest durability.

Overeem has been an upper level K1 fighter for a while, but remember that is fighting 3 rounds at 3 minutes each. That is less time than it takes to complete 2 mma rounds. Overeem is often with a size advantage in K1 as well. The year Overeem won has also been described as performing well in a convenient year.

I don't think his stance was due to being overconfident. I think he had adopted the stance of a fighter looking to sprawl in case his opponent was to go for the take down.

Overeem tired and Bigfoot jumped on him. It's that simple.

 

He should have taken BF seriously and went for it in the first round instead of doing **** and losing in an embarrassing fashion

I'm a huge fan of his but he showed absolutely no class yesterday .. Ever since he won k1 title when (Peter aerts really done all the work injuring himself defeating the better fighters towards the final)it's all gone to reems head ..

I don't think Overeem adopted last night's stance out of disrespect. I think he widened his legs, and got his arms in a position to sprawl. It would seem that Silva's game plan would probably be leaning more to taking the Remm down, rather than trying to stand and trade with the K1 champion.

 

Overeem was cocky. He felt he was faster, was more athletic and stronger. When he raggd BF off the clinches he just looked at him like WTF lets do it again and still dominated

Then he got caught, and tried to be tough about it and still kept his hands down and got KTFO.

 

I don't think he tried to be tough about anything after he was hurt. He was hurt and had no response or defense to prevent further damage. He seems to fall apart when he is hurt (evidence in other times he has been hurt and stopped)... he simply wilted.

 

At that weight it only takes one punch and thats what happened. He was cocky, got caught and now his career is in tatters.

 

I guess that you and Bas Rutten have a similar understanding of Overeem

 

Even though the thought of Reem bouncing on the ropes when he fought Liddell was still there I thought he was gonna clean up in the UFC.

From now on Im becoming a sceptic for all fighters until they truly prove themselves in that given sport.
