Which fighter would you consider that most unforgivable for retiring during a fight, and refusing to fight on? I'll throw a few names/fights in a poll..

Where is Duran vs Sugar Ray Leonard? That is the granddaddy of all quit jobs. Obviously a very biased thread starter. Never adds in any past greats, just puts the modern days ones.

Tyson vs McBride (Obvious quit job is obvious)

    Duran
    Arguello 2
    Klitschko
    Ortiz vs Maidana

Ortiz/Maidana was so weird. Vitali's was pretty bad too.

    Golota/Grant? Another weird one.

Golota against Mike Tyson and Michael Grant.

I bunch of the fights were legit TKO and quits. I dont get why people are flaming Ortiz for his quit in the Lopez fight.

Nah. McCall had huge psychological/drug problems. He shouldn't have been there in the first place.

Among the choices: Alexander to Bradley.

The rest of them had medical concerns and/or were taking severe beatings in there. I'll never hold it against a guy who is getting punched for quitting.

No shame in Ortiz/Maidana. No shame in Dawson/Ward.

OFC :). There SHOULD be some exceptions

    Cases like Lewis vs McCall
    Ortiz vs Lopez

    Should be forgiven.

    :good

Oh, but of my own choice, I will say:

    RTD3 Ray Nahr against Alvarado.

Quit on his stool after three rounds of total non-action. Claimed stomach cramps.

In all honesty though, he goes back home and never sees an American or American media member again. If I were him, I wouldn't have cared if my bowels gave way part way through the fight. Maybe it would gross Alvarado out, make him look down and you could catch him (shrugs).
