Wladimir Klitschko will likely be fighting a voluntary opponent this spring, possibly on April 6.

I know who it WON'T be:

Vitali Klitschko (won't fight his brother)
    Fres Oquendo (not being considered)
Tomasz Adamek (not being considered, I don't know why)
    Odlanier Solis (talks broke down)

    Bryant Jennings (promoter said no)
    Tyson Fury (promoter said no)
    Joe Hanks (promoter said no)
    David Price (not ready yet)
    Deontay Wilder (not ready yet)
Andrzej Wawrzyk (injured, not ready yet anyway)

    Ruslan Chagaev (already beat him)
    Tony Thompson (already beat him)
    David Haye (already beat him)

    Jonathon Banks (fighting Mitchell)
    Seth Mitchell (fighting Banks)
Bermane Stiverne (fighting Arreola on HBO)
Chris Arreola (fighting Stiverne on HBO)

Edmund Gerber (coming off a loss)
Alexander Ustinov (coming off a loss)

    Christian Hammer (not being considered)
    Michael Sprott (not being considered)
    Kvotaro Fujimoto (not being considered)

But who will the opponent actually be? We'll likely know by the end of this week, or at the latest by the end of next week.

The poll is up. Pick who you think Wladimir will choose.

Are we sure talks broke down with Solis? If Wlad can't get Fury or one of the 3 Sauerland fighters, then Solis should be next on the list.

If he's put it off this long then Wlad may be waiting for Mitchell but I doubt it. If Mitchell wins he'll want the Arreola-Stiverne winner...great TV fight either way.

I'd guess that Boystov, Pianeta, and Lawrence are on the list. Cunningham too--the fight with Fury isn't finalized yet.

Can't rule out Charr or Chisora either. Both those guys are known in Germany and can sell a fight.

    Amir Mansour maybe?

Wlad should make substantial offers to Helenius, Fury and Pulev and see if they bite. If not, Solis is the best of the rest, but not by alot.

I don't know but he should announce it soon.

Solis was fine. Boytsov or Helenius would be great.

    Oquendo would be a joke.

True, but thankfully according to CHEF it won't be Fres.

He's been ducking Fres Oquendo for years. He always says he wants to fight Fres, but then he never signs the contract. He ducked Oquendo as far back as 2001 when he was undefeated and frankly Fres is still undefeated. His undefeated streak should be longer than Klitschko's!

I cast my vote for Bogdan Dinu.

Way to waste a vote, I know, but it's not like it actually counted, anyway.

I have a feeling it will be Luis Ortiz.

He's high risk, low reward opponent though - a big, talented, technically-skilled heavyweight most people have never heard of.

Wasn't Fres Oquendo the front runner?

CHEF says it will not be Oquendo.

Oquendo and his manager do want the fight, and now are claiming Wlad is ducking Fres.

It's just 2 months now until April 6.

Surely an opponent will be chosen soon.
