Marquez doesn't owe Pacquiao a rematch because that last fight WAS a rematch. Marquez already beat Pacquiao 4 times in most people's books. Why fight him again?

In the last fight, Pacquiao was supposed to finally show us that he could beat Marquez. He got his ass kicked. I understand Marquez for not wanting a 5th fight.

As a Pac fan, while I am disappointed to not see him get a shot at payback, Juan has earned the right to do whatever he wants in regards to fighting or not. It's possible this could just be JMM just trying to get a deserved more even share of the purse though.

 

Not sure how you determined what is in "most peoples books", but last I checked only the 3rd fight had more people saying JMM clearly won and even that has a pretty large helping of dispute.

As for the rest though yeah I don't see any reason why JMM would want a 5th fight. Aside from more money maybe. He wont make much fighting Paulie or Bradley. Maybe if Mayweather wants to give him a rematch, but not sure many want to see that again either. I'm one of the few who would.

Forreal, Marquez shouldn't fight Pac again. What for?

Usually when there is a GREAT FIGHT, the rematch is almost automatic. But Pac lights to wait 4 years in between fights with MArquez before he gives him a rematch.

 

I wouldn't blame Marquez for taking the 5th fight but I don't see a need for it. The ending to their last fight was definitive and put a clear line under their rivalry.

When his brother destroyed Izzy in their 4th fight to even their series at 2-2, no-one even asked about a 5th fight because there was no need.

 

Nap just looking for a payday. Why ain't he give Hussein, sensei or that other Asian dude a rematch?

 

The truth is, Pac did everything in his power to not fight JMM. Pac/Arum denied an immediate rematch for fight of the year and made JMM wait 4 YEARS for a rematch!!! (2004-2008).


Then after the second fight Pac/Arum made JMM wait 3 years!!!! 2008-2011.


And after Pac lost to Bradley, he choose to fight JMM again. Dude is ****!

 

Amazing how many Marquez fans are scared to death of a fifth fight.
