for the people that don't quite comprehend what cherrypicking is....it's when you select the weaker/weakest from your available options.

pac-jmm 3 and 4 is obviously (except for the ducker and dodger) the toughest available fight for pac.

Give that man a prize cause he hit the nail on the head! Cotto and his team thought the man was a paper champ. They felt that Trout would make him look good with all the activity but Cotto was hyped into thinking that he could walk Trout down and knock him out. That would have made the Canelo fight extra big.:bbb

you don't seem to get what cherrypicking is...cherrypicking is when you avoid the the toughest available and choose the weaker/weakest.

who is available that pac should have fought instead of jmm 3 and 4???:think

So Marquez gives Pacquiao a good go in the third, both guys wanting another crack at a definitive win = cherry pick for #4? Please.

Also Khan vs. Garcia was definitely no cherry pick, who else should Khan have fought on short notice when Peterson was caught? I have a hard time calling two young hungry fighters stepping up a cherry pick. Maybe if he called out Casamayor or the guy he just fought.

Now to the people that said Ortiz vs. Maidana, I can go with that. Ortiz was being groomed to be the next HBO hype job version of Oscar, some pretty boy with not nearly as much fighting spirit and talent so they put him in with some slugger with a good record. Some guy tough enough to get some rounds in for entertainment but not good enough to win. Back then Maidana couldn't box for ****, but he sure could fight and GBP found out the hard way.

    Lennox vs anybody.

vs a washed up Tyson. Lewis looked slow, flat footed, clinched often, needed 8 rounds to close the show and then beats against his chest as if he did something great.

vs old Holyfield clinched, used a pawing jab,got rocked, needed 2 fights to register one win,did worse in the second fight

vs old fat Tucker, looked uninspired, the fight was boring and got worse ratings than Golf

vs Rahman,a fighter who didnt star until age 20mwho once went 3 years without a win, smashed Lewis glass jaw in 5

vs McCall,Tyson's sparring partner who struggled with 45 year old Larry Holmes smashed Lewis glass jaw in 2.

In 1988,1989 and 1990 Douglas was a top 10 heavyweight in the world. He held a win over Oliver McCall, the same guy who smashed Lewis in 2.

Douglas wasn't cherry picked, it just seemed no one could beat Tyson at the time especially not an inconsistent guy like Buster Douglas.

Forrest did not cherrypick Mayorga... It was a unification match between the WBC titlist ( Forrest ) and WBA titlist Mayorga so how is that a cherrypick? SMH

Anybody who knew boxing at the time clearly understood that Mayorga was a dangerous fighter who nearly killed 6 head lewis to earn that unification match with Forrest...

Forrest himself was coming off of his first, upset victory over Shane mosley.. Prior to that victory, forrest himself was an unknown commodity so again, how did he cheerypick Mayorga??

Both were fairly unknown at the time...

    U are a casual boxing fan.. :-(
