Why would he do this? Emotion shouldn't be apart of fighting he didnt seem extremley angry when he was out there or anything atleast didnt seem like he was punching holes in the wall before he went out

Pretty much common knowledge at this point. What is your question exactly?

Well why would one of Spink's people tell the story then? He ha nothing to gain by it, that was what i was thinking though why would he risk hand injury right before the biggest fight he was supposed to have, but then why would a guy who's in the other guys corner make up such a story..

We're a pretty theatrical bunch in this business.

Tyson wasn't QUITE a circus yet. I can't be asked to believe that his people would allow him to literally jeopardize millions of dollars prior to a ring entrance.

I kinda don't believe it but i just don't understand what Butch Lewis gained by saying it it would just make Tyson seem more intimidating to us now when we hear the story why would he want that i thought he would want to talk up his fighter

Probably Tyson was soing something like that but Butch Lewis always seemed a guy that liked to dramatize things a lot.....he probably exagerated what happened, that´s all imo.

I could see him being nervous or anxious and punching walls with his gloves on once or twice, and the story getting embellished.

I agree, especially not before his biggest payday up until that point. I'd believe if Tyson was banging his gloves together loudly and Spinks overheard a thud or two from it, but even that's a bit of a stretch.

I believe it. It also goes to show why Spinks look terrified (Not that holes being punched in would be needed). Butch Lewis might be exaggerating, but apparently he was being really fussy with the gloves or something and ended up annoying Tyson so bad he punched a hole into the other dressing room. This is what he claims. It's not as if it was premeditated. It was a spur of the moment thing if it did happen, so it's not like Tyson was thinking about protecting his hands or that his team would've had time to stop him from doing something so spontaneous. Tyson did a lot of erratic things in the spur of the moment. This seems hardly far-fetched considering his other instances. Crashing cars into trees, getting into a street-fight with Mitch Green, biting Lewis leg, Holyfield's ear, trying to break Botha's arm, etc. It's not like we're talking about the most forward thinking person, at least not at that juncture of his life.

The fact that it came from Lewis makes it questionable imo. Not saying its impossible though.
