This is starting to have the feel of a fight that isn't going to happen.

@FloydMayweather: The negotiations for my fight are almost done. The front runner is IBF Champion Devon Alexander. It’d be a unification bout at welterweight.

Alexander didn't fancy his chances against the young, hungry lion Kell Brook. Instead he took on the old, semi shot Floyd Mayweather. What a disgraceful duck.

is this good news for brook will probably get to fight for a vacant title against some easy touch in sheffield??

i was fairly surprised brook vs alexander got made so quickly even though its been cancelled twice now when a lot of people suggested brook mite drag his heels n hope alexander vacates.

Looks like Brook will fight for the vacant title. Problem is the guys in the IBF top 15 are not exactly exciting. Rafal Jacksizwick is the highest ranked avalible opponent and Brook beat him in 6 rounds over a year ago!

Is it possible in the circumstances Brook may get handed the IBF title then he could fight a voluntary or go straight for a unification clash against Bradley or Malignaggi?

    It's a risk/reward matter for me.

Brook was too much risk for little reward.

With Floyd nobody expects him to win so there is little risk, his career will not be harmed. The rewards however are huge if he wins.

    Shameful duck of Kell though.

I wouldn't blame Alexander for taking on Mayweather. Just feel sorry for Brook and all those who bought tickets for the Detroit show. Bundrage as the main event. Oh my.

he's dodging a tough fight for less money with Brook.

as opposed to another tough fight, but for a **** load more money.

Dont get me wrong, i understand the logic, i really do.

Alexander loses to Brook, where does that leave him. as opposed to losing to Mayweather, he'd more than likely have a few million in his back pocket, and everyone would just say, "ah, sure we expected him to lose, so no shame in that"

It's hardly a duck to face the best fighter in the world instead of Kell "took a beating from Carson Jones" Brook.

:huh so your sayin it's okay for someone to cancel a title fight with 2 weeks notice so you can fight someone else? You think it's acceptable that people do this? ****ing clown.
