Benn,if not for a culmination of unfortunate events could have been an ATG. He had the skills and the heart. Many, myself included think he won Eubank 2. Fyi,in the first fight he lost 3 kgs the SAME MORNING OF THE FIGHT! He was overweight waking up at 7 am. He donned 3 work out suits and worked out in a steam bath to make the noon weigh in,possibly wearing himself down-see the Titans on youtube, And still did very very well for those 9 rounds.

Not read all this thread but Benn was the Hatton of the 80/90's always drew big crowds and rarely in a poor fight.
I was gutted to be there to watch him lose to Malinga @ Newcastle as you could tell it was the end for him.

Well, at least he didn't lose 3 st in a few days like Eubank did for the first Watson fight :yep

Anyway, did Benn have any excuses for his outclassing against Watson?

you not see the fight they had son? you not see what happened? you not see the referee raise eubanks arm? i dont think you did. i think you biased. you biased because you cant handle the fact that eubank is more popular, more smarter, more of a gentlemans and dresses better than ben. this is pure bias right here.

Whatever the situation it's pretty obvious Schommer had less time to prepare as he was working a full time job wheras Eubank was a full time fighter.

Btw,that extreme weight loss is an excellent endorsement of boxing as the ultimate cardio ,strength and conditioning workout. Losing just half that weight in 3 hours would KILL most people-and he still went on for 9 rounds!!

    *sigh*

I ****ed up. Schommer had only spent one week to acclimatise to Sun City, whereas Eubank had three. Not one week to train fullstop. His training was obviously interrupted heavily due to work commitments, but anyway...

Not that it makes it much less embarrassing for Eubank. But I feel stupid.

    Anyway, the quote from Eubank:

"Whatever his management, staying outside the country. Um...only coming into the country only a week before the fight is their strategy. I don't think it's a good one, but... "
