I think what theone is councerned about is the counter counter jab..basically this kid just waits for you to throw a jab right hand catches it returns his own jab..basically you just got to mix it up..faint jabs..body jabs...faint slip to left lead right hand....double jab.....just confuse the issue thats all...
neat question, here goes some of your options: Flicker Jab, cross Jab high, duck, Jab to body Jab to body Use a fake out so he catches wrongly and jab again once his catching hand passes the first fake out Jab, catch, Jab (counter the counter) Intermittently instead of leading with a jab, wiggle your shoulders to break up the timing and release a lead cross. Someone with that type of open guard (palms facing in) is more likely to parry inwards, so you skit around to his side and throw jabs or crosses from outside in. The two hands held high full cover is ideal defense. You can also lead with a hook to bypass the catching hand. A lot of things you can do... timing, head movement, double up jabs, you just want to mess with their head so predictability doesnt become an issue
about the best basic advice..especially for a beginner pulling this...when you faint he will likely reach for the jab with his right...
Feint the jab high and throw it low. Feint the jab-hook-cross Jab high-right to the body Double ****ing jab. Do whatever jack Dempsey would do. Feint the jab-hard right hand Feint the jab-slip left-left hook downstairs
If you know he does that a lot, then if you aren't getting pinned with it you can base your attacks off of that. The constant counter jab can be a sign of a weak nervous fighter more often than a smart boxer. Play with the timing of the counter and slip it like any other jab use it to his weakness, try and get him to throw it and work your way inside with your head movement and position. Try parry it off to his left and expose him wide open. See how well covered up on the inside when you try slip the counter jab. Left body rip He might be too fast following up with extra punches countering your movement, that case you probably have a cagey style to work out.
its as simple as that /\ /\ /\ you have to commit to the punch after the faint ,, 2 examples faint jab with a step-in jab faint jab to the body with straight right to chin keep it simple making shore your counter works before you back it up with a combo
You'll find out that feinting sounds easier than it is. He likely won't buy your feints at first but don't let that discourage you. The key is feinting. He's waiting for you to throw a jab, so make him think you're doing that.
Shouldn't be that difficult if he's always got his hands up like in the pic. That means he's pretty immobile, so switching angles and having him reset will open him up every time. Use your feet. Easy jab to the body, feint him plenty. If you're an inside fighter, move those hips side to side, slip that jab. Use a high guard and consider eating that jab of his if it means you being able to get close and land your own punches. Quite a few things you can do really. Don't be afraid or concerned of your approach not working right away. Don't be reckless either.
I will switch angles alot now on him :good He is very easy to jab to the body i will do that alot as well I'm not an inside fighter im tall and lanky but like fighting on the inside especially if i get bored of just jabbing i will try to stay on the outside though
I like the feint jab to the body and right to the chin, i will try that :good I will try to feint the crap outta him
Also if he's feinting a lot and you're having trouble with it, cover up try cutting off the ring get him close to the ropes/corner. Then make him more honest
I saw an episode of Quantum Leap years ago in which Sam leaped into a boxer. He managed to gain a edge in the fight by having his stripper girlfriend pull her shirt up at a crucial moment in the fight, thus distracting his opponend and allowing Sam to win by knock out. You could try that....if you can find GG maybe she will come to the gym during the sparring and bend over and shake her ass?
