77-75 Asseltine on my card. Not a pretty fight at all right now, but Asseltine's decision to come forward and do his best Ruiz impression is minimizing Laham's chance to do damage.

Asseltine is falling in against Laham, pushing off with his right forearm, snapping out a few light jabs, and repeating. Laham isn't able to get off before Asseltine smothers him. The work from Asseltine isn't especially clean but it's all that's getting through for either man. The ref warns Asseltine for draping himself over Laham. Very soft ear-boxing combos by Asseltine while Laham tries to shoe shine his body.

I think in all Nate had a good career, I wish I followed it a little more perhaps.. For some reason though when I think of him, the Peden KO when Nate had his hands down stands out like a sore thumb. Even though Nate probably wasn't at his best, it was still a shitty way to lose.:nut

Asseltine is jabbing and putting in apple-corer shots with his left in between rest periods where his beanpole lays propped against the exhausted but still determined Quebecois pit bull. Laham rushes face-first into a left uppercut, still trying to get close and lay hands on Asseltine. Overhand chops and light pokes to the body by Laham, but Asseltine is shouldering him to the ropes and dropping low for extra leverage. Slaps by Asseltine while smothering. Looping left by Asseltine and a left hook by Laham land at the same time. Laham down just before the final bell, slip. No knockdown.

Looked like a kd to me. Either way, I had Asseltine winning the round and the fight 96-93 (called the ninth even)

 

I had Bryce Harper winning 96-94.
