I dont think Kessler was Calzaghes overall best win
You got yourself pwned there, because Johnson lost the eliminator to face Calzaghe and Eastman turned it down

And a lot of people think he won. It was a close fight. But you were the one who ridiculed Calzahe by saying it was a close fight as if Hopkins wasn't still an elite level fighter at the time!

Calzaghe has to be given credit for Hopkins.. Close fight, but Hopkins was still elite, and the man at LHW.. It wasn't the best Hopkins by any means, but one that had a crafty polished style that helped make up for him not being in his physical prime. Hopkins was still very good at pulling a fighter out of his game and making an ugly fight. I rate that win right up there with Kessler on Joe's resume.

Bailey your not Calzaghe JR are you? All your posts are always Calzaghe related lol.

Back on topic, I think Calzaghe's win was the better of the duo. Kessler was 100% in that fight without the eye injury. But Joe was Joe and pressured the **** out of Kessler to beat him into submission.

Ward to me. I thought Kess was going to spank him. While Joe was supposed to beat Kessler.

Calzaghe didn't cheat to beat Kessler.
I still think Kessler would win a rematch in Denmark.
    And he deserved one. :/

Ward is maybe better then Kessler but his style is so ugly and made the Kessler fight look easy. Where is the rematch Ward!? :/

No Im not Sir Joe. Im as big a Froch, Kessler, Ward and Bute fan as I am Calzaghe fan.
I like the SMW division ever since the Leonard/Hearns rematch. Then we had the Eubank, Benn, era, whci was excellent, then you had the Calzaghe era, which was good.
Problem is Bane, is that so many get insecure about Calzaghe and didnt watch him or the SMW division to know the facts. Before Calzaghe beat Lacy, he already had a good resume, but many fans in America didnt know so much about him until then, which is a shame because they only saw the end of his career.
Its really giving the other side of the story. I will probably be doing the same for Ward one day, when he is forgotten and some new kid who looks promising comes along, beats a fighter that Ward beat when at the top of his game and then they say this new kid is already better than ward without proving it time and again.
So many dont realise who some of the Calzaghe opponents were or how good they were or have watched the division enough to know that some fighters who are top 10 today may not have been top 10 a few years back

Calzaghe was stripped (or did he drop it?) the IBF title because all of a sudden he wasn't interested in fighting his mando's no more, this was when Stieglitz was the number one contender to his title and wait for it.....he ducked out of fighting Stieglitz so he could face Peter Manfredo :lol:..so what you have is a guy that will give Mario Veit a rematch (a guy who Joe waxed in a single round) because he was a mando but Stieglitz got looked over for Manfredo :patsch

Ok. That has sod all to do with the post you quoted. Whether Calzaghe "ducked" Stieglitz or not - and frankly, coming from you, I dont believe it since you seem to be on a crusade to prove that Calzaghe "ducked" everyone in the Super Middleweight division's history - does not change the fact that he won all the Super Middleweight Titles and never lost any title in a fight and he has held more titles and accomplished more in his career than Andre Ward currently.

the reason to why the steiglitz fight never happened was down to HBO refusing him as an opponent.

joe and his father enzo were against the manfredo fight, but due to the fact he was well known from the contender series, HBO wanted him as joe's next opponent.

too many ****ing idiots who don't know what they're talking about when it comes to calzaghe for my liking. this **** just keeps going on and on...

The Hopkins fight was at lhw. I was comparing Ward's smw reign to Calzaghe's smw reign
    Where's Dawson?

How on earth was he better? Looked to me to be the same fighter when he fought Ward. I notice you are also forgetting the fact that Ward at the time was a smw prospect. If anything the Ward win is better
    No
Lacy is Calzaghe's 2nd best win at smw and Froch is better than Lacy
    No
Dawson is Ward's 3rd best win. More accomplished than Abraham with a higher skill set. He was also on a winning streak
    Point 1:
Bika has beat no one worth mentioning.
    Point 2:

Bika was actually boxing against Ward, against Calzaghe he was just mauling and wrestling
Eubank took that fight on 11 days notice. He would also lose his next two fights and retire 0-5 in his last 5 fights against meaningful opposition. It's really not much better than Ward's meaningless win over Miranda
Reid never beat anyone worth mentioning.
Going into the Calzaghe fight he was coming off a loss to a 40 yr old Malinga. He would then lose his next fight to Silvio Branco:patsch
Coming off a loss to Ottke.
He would fall of balance during the Calzaghe fight and then the ref would stop the fight. A terrible stoppage.
He would retire then come back and now is 2-9 in his last 11 fights:lol:
Had 8 losses going into the Calzaghe fight
Coming off a recent ko loss to Echols
Would go 3-2 in his next 5 fights against mediocre opposition before retiring
    Never beat anyone worth mentioning
Coming off a loss to Beyer
Would retire after the Calzaghe fight

Only if you consider wins over
