Roy Jones is the best I've seen on film.

Even though I rate Leonard higher. I think Jones looks better.

RJJ in his prime was one of the most skilled boxers ever. Watch Jones switch to southpaw and fire a left hand as fast as any southpaw that ever lived and tell me about his lack of skills.

Lack of skills when referring to Roy Jones has to be one of boxing's biggest myths.

Just because he didn't fight like Vernon Forrest. Who was greater?

Tough one that Vic, I'll go for Leonard. I wouldn't argue with anyone who picks Jones though. I enjoyed watching Leonard more.

Across whole, hard fights, Leonard. Highlight reels? Jones. There aren't many guys that look more impressive in snippets of their best moves than RJJ. ...Maybe there aren't any, let alone many.

I am not personally a fan of either one....actually they are both on the lower end of the enjoyability/likeability spectrum for me...Having said that, I reluctantly admit that both are/were great(s). As far as more impresive I don't think that I could say one was head and shoulders above the other...so perhaps the thing that seperates it for me by rating SRL higher is that he proved it and looked as good against superior competition. Both are impressive, but SRL was equally impressive against superior competition.

always impresses that Kalule knockout, he basically overpowered a very powerful junior middleweight champ at his peak.

Jones looked better partly because he was more dominant.

Quality of opposition has a lot to do with it but Jones in his prime didn't really struggle in any fights and generally dominated whereas Leonard had difficulties against numerous opponents despite nearly always coming out on top in emphatic fashion.

Jones was also better defensively (although their mindset has a lot to do with that) quicker and had more single shot power although Leonard was no slouch either.

That said Leonard is the greater fighter, had the more exciting and meaningful fights and deserves to rank higher p4p although possibly not h2h.
