"You know, to me the most remarkable thing about Ray's career is that he didn't even get a shot at the welterweight title til he was 26- or the middleweight title til' he was 30! You think he was the greatest? What do you think he'd a been if he'd gotten his chances when he deserved them? You wanna know the truth? If I coulda' got my shot, I wouldn't have risked it fighting someone like Ray." -Charles Burley, Straight from the horses mouth.

I respect both but this whole he ducked burley **** is bs.Dude fought multiple #1 contenders 10 H.OF.S & #2 recognized p4p fighter by many Henry Armstrong.& please don't ever try to compare him to the bum of wales Prime Roy/hopkins wipes the floor with him.

Everyone is open to crazy resume nit picking.

Among the toughest big name/ATG's I could critique would be: Armstrong, Robinson, Ezzard, Monzon, Pep, Sanchez, Villa, Hearns, Oscar.

There was a thread a few weeks ago about him being 1-4 against ATG heavyweights.

    Next.

I didn't say he never lost.

I said I didn't think he "ducked" anyone.

Lots of great fighters had significant losses -- including two high ranking ATG's that Joe fought.

Ali lost to Norton and was also defeated by Joe himself.

Foreman beat Joe but lost to Ali.

Anyway, I'm going to try and find the thread you mentioned.

    Thanks for the info!!:good

PS: If I were to dispute a resume, it would be the resume of a fighter who ducked the BEST fighters, NOT the fighter that had some losses to the best.
