I still want Pac vs Floyd over any other fight.

All these damn fighters floyd missed fighting an people excuse all this ****, talkin about premier challenges in the divisions through the years he didnt ****in fight an people excuse it. Would he have lost? we dont know. Hes been one of my favorites since i was a kid im not biased. People do nothin but blame the fighters opposite of floyd an blame floyd too for **** not happening but you can only do that so much until you realize he dodged fighters

    Its the exact same scenario

People hate Wlad and Floyd whether they think they are boring or maybe they question their place in history or resume or whatever

the threads and posts dedicated to criticizing both guys follow the same criteria and so when an "dangerous" opponent emerged they got all high on the one guy and kept degrading the other

Hate Wlad or not I think it was quite obvious Haye brought nothing to the dance that Wlad hadnt dealt with before and though he was charismatic to some and was athletically gifted and punched hard he lacked the boxing ability or strategy or even mind set to do it

People hate Wlads style of jabbing and no going for the kill like he used to and being overly cautious. They forget how effective he is and seem on fight week to only go on about his weaknesses and such while ignoring his strengths and also his opponents weaknesses in exploiting Wlads problems

Floyd is the same thing people hate his behavior and his style so they question his legacy and resume and a whole list of other things, Manny comes up in weight wins some big fights looks good doing it and it seems that he is a huge threat

Ive seen the thread about JMM beating Pac not meaning anything for Pac vs Floyd and while i think the thread starter knows his stuff and its really a great read i think that JMM beating Pac means Floyd beats Pac. Manny never really beat a true counter puncher and has always been a sucker for the right even vs Clottey who hardly threw he was hit rather easy

Manny is way more a sucker for the right than Floyd is mythicaly described as a sucker for the left. I never thought Manny beat anybody on Floyds level who could emulate or show us that he could handle Floyds stuff

I think the Bradley fight and the JMM fight tell us basically what would happen if Manny fought Floyd. He would throw less punches, be more lethargic, be more frustrated, and get hit way more than he is used to

An you could say floyd might be even less active than manny. A fighter out of a southpaw stance with the power an even more speed than a miguel cotto.

So simplistic - Floyd would never have been in that position to counter the way Marquez is - Floyd counters with distance. If Pacquiao were in that close Floyd would be covering up and attempting to establish distance again. Marquez' ability to go toe to toe means he's able to stand, take punishment and looking for that almight counter.

Floyd is a different type of fighter. Look at the Cotto fight - he had ample opportunity to counter Cotto who was up close and aiming body shots with his chin unguarded round after round, he only connected when Cotto got desperate in the last round and still no KO. Floyd doesn't like going toe to toe so saying he does the same thing as Marquez is simplistic beyond belief

Floyd V Pacquiao would be a very competitive fight and I can see both exploiting weaknesses in the other

I'm surprised "Mayweather Vs Mayweather's Shadow" isn't above Marquez V Pacquiao in that list

Tyson beats Douglas. Kirkland destroys Ishida. Duran outboxes Lang. Tyson beats Holyfield, an excruiserweight.
There's a reason the guys have to fight.

That much you do know, or "read between the lines"?

Maybe your faith in your between-the-line literacy is a bit high? :yep

You may pick Mayweather over Feliciano, that doesn't mean he automatically wins.

You may pick Pacquiao over Dan, that doesn't mean he automatically wins.

I would rather see Pacquiao vs Marquez 5. Mayweather vs Pacquiao lost its flavor to me since early 2012, the fourth Marquez fight finally killed the interest for good.

Floyd says Aaron Pryor gives him the toughest fight in history near his size becuase of pressure work rate and unorthodoxy. The "outside the box" tests never came up before 2009 Pac.

There's something about Pac that Floyd doesn't like, and something about Floyd Arum doesn't like. Pac is dumb enough to fight a guy who has his number 4 to 27 times.

Pac and Floyd are both super elite, where styles can make fights again. Feliciano is not, nor is Dan, and barring a lucky punch, have no chance to compete on that elite level.

Corley shook both Floyd and Cotto - he's not on that level, but hey, he got lucky twice.

I kind of agree with you, Duran was sparked by Hearns but fights such as the 3rd Leonard fight and the Camacho fight still happened after.

Of course, if the fight was made people would say Floyd is just picking the right moment to strike. And if it never happens Floyd fans will continue to say "Whats the point, Marquez knocked him out and Floyd beat Marquez"

All the best fighters should be forced to fight each other somehow, back in the day fighters wanted to prove who was the best way more than the fighters of today.
