So Fedor earned the right to duck the best in the World and the legacy he holds today was established long ago... Wow, well if that's the case I believe Hendo earned that right too, but look at where and who he is fighting:deal. Imo, when we talk legacy on here a lot ignore the big picture instead of looking at one's career beginning to end... Which is how it should be. People make a pass for fighter's like Fedor for flaming out, but when it comes to guys like RJJ...

"He didn't need them"? Fedor was p4p #1 for some time, and in that spot you outta be fighting the best, not avoiding them.

You wanna talk big $$$? Like May and Pac, Fedor threw away a boat load not fighting Brock Lesnar.

Hendo has earned that right, however he still has the fire and hunger to be the best. If Hendo didn't want to fight top tier fighters anymore, I wouldn't rate him any lower....however, he CAN be rated higher still if he keeps winning.
Hendo and Fedor are very different. Fedor has already had what Hendo is still thriving for, and he had it for a decade of dominance. He was regarded as The Best Hvy Weight for a decade, and to many the best fighter in any weight class. I understand how it's hard for Fedor to still be as "hungry" as Hendo.

What's the big picture??? If Fedor retired after Knocking out AA or Sylvia, or Rogers, or **** even beating Lindland....he wouldn't be ducking anybody right? He has that right to retire after a decade of dominance doesn't he?

The big picture here is, during his prime, when it mattered, he fought and beat the best in the world. :deal

People don't get that. He dominated in a division which is historically hard to stay at the top.

The most title defences is by Tim Sylvia in UFC along with Couture. Also, you're bashing Sylvia but the guy was ranked top 5 by Sherdog and other websites when he fought Fedor. Arlovski? Was also consensus top 5. Barnett fight that ALMOST happened? Number 2 on most people's list.
So don't give me that **** he was fighting bums last few years of his career.

After fighting Fedor they pretty much gave up, I'll give you that. But no one goes into Fedor fight not giving it their all with nothing to lose. That's the nature of being the top dog.

And if you haven't seen his fire slowly go out then you haven't been paying attention. Since he became religious, dealt with building Sports Palace, and his family well fed and taken care of for generations to come, he didn't seem to care as much about win or lose.

Also, every single idiot that claims Fedor isn't in the talks of being GOAT, hasn't been watching Pride. FACT. UFC division is as intimidating today as Pride HW division was back in the day, and Fedor showed up out of nowhere and walked through it. THAT is why no one wanted to fight the guy.

I was agreeing with you. "People don't get that", as in agreeing with what you said. :yep

It's a lot easier to agree with someone on the topic of Fedor. I ran out of steam arguing in his defense. I know what he means to me and MMA in Russia and the world. Trying to convince someone who's listening to Dana White's lullaby every night before bed is not worth my energy anymore.

The thing is, nobody was saying he was passed his best or lost that hunger until he submitted to Werdum. They may say it now, but I remember when. Either way, I don't buy it.... I'm certain that it takes a fighter in his prime to dispose of Sylvia and AA in one round. I mean, Arlovski was a top 5 HW was he not? ;)

Ufoalf, for the same reasons UFC's HW division was as intimidating as Pride's is why Fedor wanted no part of it. My point is this, if you are going to be ranked the #1 in the World you outta be fighting the best. IMO, Anderson Silva has been #1 in the World all along as Fedor was riding that wave of Pride dominance.... Only after he tapped did people have no choice but to give my man Anderson Silva his propers.

It was an aura, and the thought of Fedor still active, still fighting on as to why he was #1 in the World as he sat outside The UFC.

As time passes, I believe him and I are the only ones in the World who knew back when that he wasn't the p4p King.

Bull****. You weren't paying attention. It was being said from the time he started bringing his priest to his fights and that was before Affliction. You got no leg to stand on.

You don't know what you're talking about. Your imagination is not a valid point.

I don't understand where all this nonsense about Fedor being over rated comes from.

It's strange. It's like you guys are trolling under Dana Whites payroll

It's like saying Ali is over rated because he cherry picked fights later in his career .

I think you just about run outta excuses, and how dare you blame this on a priest. Fedor would disagree with such nonsense. It comes as no surprisre that certain fans are going to blame everyone but the man fighting.

My time is being wasted as you try to put the pieces together on why he fell off.

I never said he was overrated, but that he gets the Iron Mike treatment. I don't think glossing over 2 TKO and a submission losses with 3 cans helps his case either, and I sure as hell don't think a fighter who flames out before 35 has longevity.

It's all in how one saw the events unfold :good. This discussion wasn't even about Fedor, but once I mention his name we see the million and a half reasons as to why he fell off.
