The key word here is IF.

IF they could have landed clean.

He was past his best when Tarver and Glen knocked him out.

Ruiz could hit much harder than those two, but he never got the opportunity to land flush on Roy.

The key word here is a KNOCKOUT, that what would happen to Jones if he decided to fight anybody other then hand picked opponent like Ruiz. Remember, he has a glass jaw.

Just about any fighter who fought Roy at 175, could have knocked him out had they had the OPPORTUNITY!

Only if they could land clean.

    Wlad couldn't knock out Haye.

Ruiz wasn't hand picked, do some research.

Haye has a glass jaw. How many times has he been knocked out?

Bruno couldn't take a punch, and neither can Wlad.

you sound very convincing, but a middleweight with glass jaw who was brutally KOed many times is ****ed at HW lol

    You're missing the point.

When did Roy get brutally knocked out?

    When he was past prime.

He fought better fighters than Tarver and Johnson earlier in his career, and he didn't get knocked out.

Anybody can go, when they're caught.

But nobody had the opportunity to knock Roy out earlier.

You can't just say that because every heavy could hit harder than Tarver, that Roy would lose to every heavy.

There are loads of heavies that could and would have beaten Roy, and I'm not saying that he could have dominated or anything stupid like that.

But he was capable of beating SOME heavies.

His incredible speed and skills would have got him out of trouble against certain guys.

Again, any heavy given the opportunity would have knocked him out, but there's a few who would never have gotten that opportunity.

Ruiz would have took his head off if he'd have landed flush. He knocked Holy down who's got a good chin.

As mentioned, Ruiz could certainly hit harder than Tarver and Glen Johnson.

But Roy out boxed him with his incredible hand speed and his footwork.

Sure, according to fans, their favorite fighter looses only when he is not in prime. If he lost it means he was past it or too green:lol:
The fact is he got KOed many times and if he would go against 250 + pound men in HW, his glass jaw would get shuttered prime or not prime. I would actually like to see Jones against some of the monster punchers. That would be brutal.

Muhammad Ali would have over 5 losses with those 100 fights, Roy Jones probably loses 20+ of them ... no chin, and his speed advantage (which was less than usual when he was blown up to hw) is nullified because of massive reach disadvantages.

I estimate Roy Jones losing between 24 and 30 fights:

    Lewis
    Ibragimov
    Mercer (yes, even old Mercer)
    Haye
    Solis
    Sanders x 2
    Peter x 3
    Adamek
    Hide
    Arreola
    Chambers
    Chagaev
    Brewster x 2
    McCline
    Byrd x 2
    Botha
    Brock
Thompson (he would probably have beat the 40-year-old version)
    Donald

    50/50 fights:

    Shulz
    Williamson
    Barrett
Purrity x 2 (he also drew with Tommy Morrison)
    Briggs
    Johnson
    Rahman (old)

Some of you guys are nutz. HW Jones was the last great version of RJJ and it was before he had chin issues (don't tell me he was never hit before that). The move down is probably what started the chin issues (then the ko's mounted) with the gain and loss of muscle in too quick a fashion. I don't rate Ruiz, but he gave a lot of hw's competitive fights and beat some descent hws (with some barely legal tactics) and Roy schooled him. Walking that Jones down and landing enough power punches to get the stoppage would be very difficult for some of the not so talented nor quick hw's that have populated the contender ranks in the past 10 years or so. The Klits would've clearly been too much for that Roy and I don't want to rack my brain for all of K2's opposition but I'd pick Roy over a lot of their opponents that come to mind
