Donaire is going to go hard on Rigondeaux

i think rigs is superior to donaire in a few facets of the game, however i don't see his chin holding up here.

 

No offense, but with your avatar, it's obvious you'll follow your boy over a cliff if he asked you to.

It's a tough fight for both fighters, but given the fact that Donaire has fought much better opposition, he should be the favorite. I watched the Rigo vs Marroquin fight and saw Rigo get rocked by a left hook to the temple and then proceed to put on the track shoes for a round or two. Marroquin isn't close to Donaire's level.

Donaire's not perfect, but his wins over Darchinyan, Narvaez, Nishioka, and Mathebula trump anything Rigo has on his résumé.

Like I said, it's a tough fight but all the Rigo fans, Cubans in particular, need to stop blindly saying that Rigo will blast through Donaire. I would not be surprised if its a very competitive fight, but if somebody scores a big knockout, it's more likely Donaire lands the big punches for the KO.

 

Whatever anybody can be beat even nonito.I would've like Rigo fight poonswat & another fighter but I'm happy he got the fight,he deserved it.All I know is rigo's got a legitimate chance & will give nonito a run for his money win/lose.

I've always said a 50-50, does it make me biased?

Yup, this is also how I see Donaire would be aiming at. I don't see this getting farther than 3-4 rds. But I'll also give Rigo a fair chance of doing so as well. Donaire aiming for an early TKO would also give Rigo a decent opportunity to find an opening too. I have it at around 60-40 chances for Donaire

 

A biased analysis this is. Have you forgotten than Montiel hasn't been close to being KOed ever since and Donaire just made him look like he can be KOed all the time? You're making it look like Rigo is a man of steel when all he's had was 11 fights of showing. I'm not saying Donaire wins surely but don't make it look like it's impossible to obliterate Rigo who's not proven any much in the Pros yet. atsch

 

Both these guys have never been pushed because their comp was simply too small or not on their level. I always figured Donaire, Mares, Rigo, and Moreno would of made a great mini Fab 4 and in reality I give Mares more props for stepping up to the plate first and taking on Moreno. Each of them are clearly elite and when they face each other they'll clearly find out these aren't the fighters they've used to fighting.

 

You are a freaking liar, he caught him once, clowning and Rigondeaux went after him immediately the other one he was off balance, and if you think Donaire will see the same GR, the one with all the legal trouble the one that was back in court in Miami three days before the fight and a fight that I might add, was already cancelled you are dreaming, why do you think he waited to sign until TR settle with Caribe?
P.S. I have to say that Rigondeaux went to that fight because his trainer drag him out of bed, he was so upset and depress with his legal issues that he didn't want to fight, still he put Marroquin twice on the canvas a fighter that out weigh him by a leas 8 pounds, he was fighting a JLW and won 11 out of 12 rounds, give it time a that win will look great on GR resume, Marroquin has a bright future ahead of him and the kid can bang...

 

Donaire will knock Rigo out, no doubt about it!!!

 

Lots of experts also predicted Donaire-Montiel to go thru tactical 12 rds. Knowing how skilled of a boxer Rigo is, I don't think Donaire will take the chances of winning it rd by rd. He'll look for an opportunity to knock Rigo out but Donaire won't open himself up too much looking for it. He'll sneak out finding perfect timings. But I'll also give Rigo a good chance to do so too. Early rds is the best time to do it when both are still fresh and are able to pick up their moves.

 

But he makes excellent use of angles. The best since Floyd or James Toney. His defense and his punches come from his use of angles and feints both which are best in his class. He's a better boxer than Donaire and it's not debateable.

Donaire however has more power, speed, reach, footwork.

 

He did in the amateurs. I don't think we have seen the best of Rigondeux to be honest. I've watched his amateur fights and he looked untouchable like Roy Jones or Floyd Mayweather in their prime and that is in all areas including inside. His defense and footwork seemed to be better.

His style seems to have been changed by trainers Freddy Roach. He has much better punching technique and precision now but his defense isn't as good and he doesn't use his footwork. He also isn't using his infighting but thats not the same as not having it. Roy didn't use his jab or infighting but when he wanted to he was beating the crap out of guys with that punch or with inside fighting. I think it depends on how Rigondeux trains.

 

He is only 32 and hasn't made much money fighting. There is no reason for him to retire until 40. Also he fights in a style where he can actually fight for a long time.

He loses and he can go up in weight or wait for Donaire to go up in weight then win all the titles and unify that division. I think he should consider going up in weight himself as he's bigger than Donaire naturally and he's now in his 30s. I think if he goes up in weight he could make it to 140 or 147.
