Fighters Lennox Lewis ducked

Lewis ducked Vitali, retired rather than fight him. According to a fight we just saw, the fight should have been stopped and Vitali given the victory because Lewis had a badly broken nose caused by a punch from Vitali. Lewis was behind on the cards are was ready to be knocked out. Lewis turned down the highest payday for a fight to avoid Vitali.

Lennox Lewis admitted that he ducked Corrie Sanders, in his own words!

 

Lewis let Vitali just punk him after the fight ended. He let Vitali know he didn't want any of him. How people actually expected Lewis to give him a rematch still boggles my mind. He just looked at Vitali in awe.

Lewis in truth ducked no one. Bowe was as much to bla me as Lewis for that fight happening. Sanders was lined up to meet Lennox if Lewis beat McCall the first time.. Byrd wasn't really ever spoken about in same breath as Lewis at the time, Ruiz was so much damaged goods after Tua that Lewis was not really spoken about much and for much of he time (and Ruiz at one time was managed by Maloney and was a stablemate of Lennoxs) so in honesty Lewis only learned in the victory over Vitali that he needed to retire and his skills were eroding.
