So would I. Of course he's the underdog but I can't wrap my head around the abuse he's getting. If he was fighting Floyd Mayweather then fair enough, he ain't got a prayer. This is Adrien Broner though. A talented but untested fighter. That bubble has to burst at some point and Gavin looks like a very likely pin. We should be supporting him, not making out like he's not fit to wipe Broner's arse.

I don't think saying he will get beaten badly is being abusive. It's being realistic f that is what you feel. I was a huge Hatton fan, went to watch him fight at the MEN and was amazed and delighted when he beat Tsyzu. But before the PBF fight, I said he had very little chance at all and I expected him to lose by late stoppage. It wasn't being abusive, it was what I felt would happen.

Rees has simply not operated at World Class. I don't really class his World Title win as true World Class, as M'Baye was a gatekeeper/fringe world level operator IMO. That's maybe a tad harsh, but he was a bit like a Paulie Mag....not good enough for the proper World Champion guys but able to grab a world title with a little luck in the opponent...very good fighter, but not top tier.

Rees got beaten comfortably by Kotelnyk who could fall into that category too to be honest, and that is really his experience at that level. But yeah Broner is being hyped a lot and has not fought that many quality opponents, but it's more the manner of the victories of note and then asking stylistically what Rees brings to trouble him. What?

I can see what Burns brings. A great jab, the ability to box from the outside off the jab in an unusual way that could offset Broner getting into a rhythm. Burns has also shown developing power, has a very good defence most of the time and a proven chin.

What tools or style does Rees bring that will upset Broner, negate his strengths and prove problematic for him? I can't think of much other than good workrate.

i like rees, good lad,my silly brain is wanting rees to knock the **** outa broner,
broner is just a puppet being told what to say and how to act,and it just does not work, maybe it does with a few muppets but by the mass,i don't think so,he comes across as a twat.
america is desperate for a massive star,i don't think broner is that man at all.

Don't think Broner is half as cocky as people make out. Seems pretty respectful on the whole and not in any way malicious or nasty. If anything Rees came across as a twat.

Rees just came across as someone without a huge amount of charisma himself but as a down to earth guy, whereas Broner just seemed like a total Larry. Honestly, did he really think people were going to laugh at calling Gavin Rees "Cabin" ?!

Broner just seems like the typical whiney little gimp, why he would want to imitate Mayweather given that most people think PBF is a total chump is beyond me, since when did being an arrogant bell end become a personality that anyone would want to embody?

I would have much preferred Rees to try and unnerve him, he should have spoken to Broner in a similar way to how Martinez spoke to JCCJ and exposed him as a protected GBP fighter and also called him on the Ponce De Leon fight which he clearly lost. Rees should have tried to hit a nerve and brought up his failure to make weight etc. I see it as an opportunity missed for Rees to get the upper hand.

I tend to disagree I think Broner has had everything all his own way and no one has really tried to rattle him, he doesn't seem the type to like being forced to fight in the trenches and Rees could have let him know he means business a bit more and tried to drag him into more of a war.

  13. What time are fighters expected to the ring Sunday morning?

    I am guessing about 4am

Yeah it'll be around 3.30/4am by the time Broner has brushed his hair enough to engage in a boxing match I expect....
