All the best, if all our fighters had Mick's mentality we would be behind each and every one of them 100%

Without a doubt my favourite Aussie boxer. Ye guys are lucky to call him one of your own and should be proud. An absolute warrior in the ring and a gentleman of equal measure outside of it. The boxing world needs more Michael Katsidis'.

KATS is a true warrior of the boxing ring never ducked a top opponent sought out the best opposition around & made them work to there limits to beat him someone said that he was not a champion thats stupid he was a champion in every sense of the world A great HEART & FIGHTING the BEST makes you a champion in my eyes . It was never a dull moment watching him fight. & as for him being forgotten in no time what a load of **** just because u **** of a few people in your home town DA VOICE does not mean people forget you AUSTRALIA is BIGGER THE TOOWOOMBA. SO kats take a rest god knows you earned it. cheers guys

It was always on the cards. I mentioned numerous times in forums, I was concerned with his welfare.
He insisted absorbing hard punches to head, as though it was made of stone.
Absolutely great it's been detected now & not when all too late. He's only 32 & as everyone says; "There's a life after boxing"

Been reading of Micks retirement on several forums and what strikes me is that to a man I haven't read ONE negative comment regarding his said retirement ( even the usual Anglo / Aussie banter has not only taken a back seat but it has been firmly placed in the boot ) speaks volumes to me regarding how respected this fella is on the WORLD boxing stage .

Mick was a guy that probably reached far greater heights ten most men with his ability could dream of . He did it with a huge heart , an enormous self belief and a will to win that has rarely been seen . In my eyes he is the most exciting fighter this country has produced in a long time . He did what a lot of these blokes back home could only dream of , backed himself and went wherever he needed to go in seek of the biggest and toughest fights . He could of sat back here in aus knocking over Thais like most our top guys do . That was not mick though , instead he fought , casamayor , Chavez , Escobedo , jmm , Guerrero , mitchel , Diaz . Mick you are a legend all the best mate .

After expenses and tax he should've cleared $250k at least

He would've done ok out of the Mitchell and Rees fight in UK i wld assume.

Hopefully he's brought a house and set himself up
