In the time I have been watching boxing since his fight with Gatti he has never taken on the number 1 contender. Every time there is some excuse that gets over looked by his fans but it doesn't matter because they use their slanted logic to say he wins in hypothetical matches.

2005 - Didn't box Hatton or go straight for Tysu at LWW. Boxes Gatti's head off wins wbc lww title.

2006 - Ducked Margarito like the plauge, got offered a career high pay day of $8 million to fight Margarito but everybody justified him ducking that by saying Margarito was too big and that Margarito should call out people his own size (even though they were saying Mayweather was the best in the division). Mayweather boxes Baldomir and Judah and for my money looked like dog **** in both fights but still aparently p4p number 1.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_BWElcszSY shows himself up by openly saying boxing isn't about proving who the number 1 fighter is to the fans when asked about margarito

2007 - Boxes a semi-retired De La Hoya squeaks past him and then, after Hatton looked incredibly vulnerable against Collazo, makes Hatton move up to Welter weight when the fight at that stage already felt like a formality. People wanted to see him against Paul Williams but *****s justified this fight not happening by saying Williams was too big (even though they were in the same weight division and they claimed Mayweather was the best in the division)

2008 - Cotto has moved up to welter weight by this point and looks **** hot, there's also Williams, so Mayweather "retires" to take away any the pressure from the fans. None of these guys had really matched up against Mayweather's biggest name opponents like Hatton and DLH so *****'s could always say Mayweather was greater. Mosely beats Margarito after Margarito is caught cheating with hand wraps, everybody uses this to say that it proves Mayweather didn't duck the fight (even though he never knew about the wraps).

2009 - Pacquiauo has now demolished DLH in more impressive fashion than Mayweather did so everybody wants this fight. They actually had the fight pencilled it was even up on boxrec then Mayweather publicly came out with drug testing demands (even though he has never asked another opponent for extra testing against other suspicious fighters). Mayweather came out of retirment after people started saying Pac was greater. went on to get Marquez to move up 2 weights from a weight he had only fought at twice with the promise of a catch weight, which he later disobeyed.

2010 - Mayweather boxes a 39 year old Mosely 16 months removed from his win over Margarito. Pac's win over Cotto is dissmissed by *****s because it was "at a catch weight and he was mentally scarred from the Margarito loss" even though Mayweather used a catch weight against Marquez.

2011 - Mayweather boxes Ortiz who was not considered by anyone to be the top guy in the division. Pac beats Mosely in more impressive fashion than Mayweather did then robbs Marquez, who has bulked up well with the help of Angel Heredia. People forget that this was at catch weigh (not that I think it made a difference styles make fights but it's funny how *****'s use that argument to their advantage).

2012 - Mayweather boxes Cotto, who is now apparently better than ever, despite no proof of this what so ever. Beats Cotto in a close but clear fight, Cotto then goes on to get beating just as clearly by Trout, disproving all the better than ever bs. Martinez offers to move down and fight him at 154lb but gets attacked by *****s saying it's a joke coz Martinez is too big (even though he offered to meet Mayweather at the division he was champion in). Pacquiauo gets robbed off Bradley and then KO'd by Marquez, now written off by critics to the delight of *****s but imo would still give him a harder fight than Cotto. Maybe Mayweather will be ready in 2014

So in the 8 years I've been following boxing Mayweather has boxed Gatti @ LWW in '05, Judah and Baldomir @ WW in '06, DLH @ LMW and Hatton @ WW in '07, Marquez @ WW in '09, Mosely @ WW in '10, Ortiz @ WW '11, Cotto @ LMW in'12, not one of these guys were regarded by fans as the number one guy in the division going nto the fight but apparently Mayweather is one of the top 15 best ever p4p, get away will you.

Fact is none of these guys were considered number 1 at the time Mayweather fought them, simple as that. *****'s can say what they want. These are just the facts.

Cotto was clearly technically more disciplined at 154. He was at his worst with Santiago. Pac's win was still very impressive, but it is what it is.

well why didn't he a agree to acareer high pay day with no options then? I almost bought his excuse at the time that he didn't want to risk his big pay day with DLH but what can people say now that he's went on so long without fighting a top guy.

***** all you want but it's the truth, and the last time he did fight a top guy before this era he went 1-1 with him in the opinions of most reasonable fans.

Mosley was easily the #1 welterweight. Look at his 147 lb resume then look at Pac's by December 2009 :patsch

Pac ducked Mosley like the plague, by the way :deal

well I orginal supported Mayweather in that one even though I thought Pac would win back in 09, check my post history, but that's just another great fight Mayweather robbed the fans of and I'm just sick of his ****.

To answer your question I am a Pacquiao fan just like I am a Marquez fan, a Barrera fan, a Morales fan etc. but I'm certainly no *******.
