At the time, DLH was still more dangerous than Margarito (both stylistically where Floyd is concerned, and in general) - and was the more lucrative and legacy-enhancing option.

The only version of DLH ever to appear in a boxing ring that wasn't more dangerous than any version of Margarito is the horribly drained one that lost to Pacquiao. (and maybe the one that got dinged up in a tune-up with Forbes)

****ing hell man, Cotto was trashed by Pacquiao and then moved up and beat three guys who were no marks at that level at that time. Even Canelo's **** poor resume is better. ****ing come on man, he beat Yuri Foreman, Ricardo Mayorga who had lost 3 of his last 6 and a semi retired Margarito who'd lost 2 of his last 3. He had done absoulutley nothing at LMW but Mayweather fans rewrite history.

Pacquiao beat a better version of Cotto than Mayweather, and a Prime Marg beat by far the best version. Cotto is just fat at LMW and should get down to WW but he's too lazy now.

 

Margo gets his hype due to the changing of the guard when Hoya, Mosley, Mayorga, Forrest etc all move up to JMW and all that was left at WW was Spinks and Judah who were fighting each other. Margarito though doesn't move up to JMW to land fights at JMW where he could have fought Hoya, Mosley, Mayoraga, Forrest, Vargas, Winky. He stays at WW where his only options are Spinks and Judah while Arum claims everyone is ducking him. Yet Paul Williams had to force his way to become Margarito's mandatory and threaten Margarito to losing his only belt in order to finally land a fight with him which he was chasing him for a while.

Yeah but Williams had beaten plenty of good guys himself. The FACT is Cotto did not have the best wins at the weight out of the active fighters and was not the best fighter at the weight out of the active fighters, even though *****s tried to make out he was before the fight.
