Well marg did try to move up but lost to Santos. How Margarito could be rated 1 at 147 in '05 when the fight was discussed makes no sense whatsoever.

The ratings went Mayorga, Spinks, Judah as #1, then Carlos as #1, then Floyd beat him for the #1 spot.

Iceferg doesn't have to like it but that's how it is.

    :rofl

I like Williams and say Lara beating him was better than what Cotto has done at the weight, but it's hard to put him number one.

The same consistent answer that has been given over 1 million times.

Williams was set to fight Canelo if he didn't get into the accident. If he would have beaten Canelo its very possible he would be in line to fight Mayweather especially given the options for Mayweather right now.

Baldomir clearly was not number 1 WW Margo would have destroyed him. use any stupid argument you want but that's fact. Mosely had been inactive for 16 months, if he ever had a place as number 1 he lost it due to inactivity same goes for DLH who had little to nothing since losing at MW and you can just **** off with saying cotto was the number one when he beat nobody and there were better fighters about than him

those are your opinions, but the fact is they were ranked number 1. How about you try a different argument

Right so who did Mosely beat to become number 1? and the fact is Margarito was commonly regarded as the biggest threat and was considered by fans as the number 1 guy, it wasn't just talked about in 05 but 06,07,08 as well, same with Pacquiao when Mayweather ducked him to fight Mosely. How could Mosely be the number 1 guy when he had been inactive for so long, every good boxing publication like boxing news, boxrec etc. will nock you off the ratings if you have been inactive that long
right, but what about williams because he had good wins himself? a lot of other guys had wins equal to Cotto's. Cotto doesn't just get it by default because he fought Mayweather and you're a Mayweather fan. That is the same ****** logic as the *****'s had before the fight when they said Cotto was in his best form ever.

the fact is they were not though

and if you're going to say that i can just say that ok then in your opinion williams lost to lara but in reality he won so therefor williams was the number 1 guy, becuase this is how obvious the argument is but you are using twisted logic because you can not except it

Its understandable to think that Margo would be rated as high as Spinks and Judah though since he was in the division the longest and probably would have beaten Judah who is poor stylistic matchup for him. But the claim that he was the most feared and been getting ducked for many many yrs and never given a shot as if Margo really struck fear in the hearts of Hoya, Mosley, Mayorga, Forrest, Winky or Vargas.

No Williams isn't number one because he lost to Lara or won a controversial decision and just got KTFO. So no he's not at number 1.
