Nobody argued with where those guys were ranked until after Mayweather beat them.

And The Ring has shown on occasion to be biased against Mayweather. Examples: Mayweather (#3 WW) dominates Mosley (#1 WW) and stays ranked behind Pacquiao (3 fights of experience there). Pacquiao not dropping in P4P stature (where he and Floyd were "tied" at #2) after JMM III to "officially recognize the decision over the majority of fans" yet also not dropping him off after the very next fight, an official defeat, as to "not ignore the majority of fans opinions."

It wasn't just The Ring that had these rankings. Everybody did...
Ring Magazine, Yahoo, ESPN, every other boxing media, East Side Boxing official polls of divisional rankings.

    All more credible than you.

don't agree with all your points.. but i hate mayweather's resume.. would give it a C+ to B- rating. I do think he is a special talent but how special? I don't know because he's never been truly tested.

It's been four years now since him and Pac should have happened.. So long that nobody even wants to see the fight anymore lol

All this cry baby revisionist history **** is beside the point, it has nothing to do with the thread title. You said something stupid, and got shown how it was stupid, go back to the batcave and regroup.

Ortiz was #2 (Behind Champ and #1)

    DLH was #3

Good list though. You may have earlier / older rankings before the fights. I know they did shift month to month so.

    /thread..

also, it's hard to fight the #1 guy, when most of the time Floyd IS the #1 guy in the division

Kind of hard to beat the number 1 guy when you are the number one guy.

On paper, that is why nine times out of ten rankings don't mean ****. Cotto got his ass kicked out of the welterweight division, beats some guy that hasn't really made any noise since, and suddenly Cotto is the best? It's all just name recognition and politics.

So even if Mayweather did beat some top ranked guys, he never fights the guy fans want to see, when they actually want to see it! So we are about a few years away still from seeing Floyd in the ring with Pacquiao, Martinez if they haven't retired by then that is.

:good most level headed posters get it but the *****'s just over run these things. no doubt he's a great boxer but none of these fights were the ones the fans wanted at the time. as i said earlier revisionit history.
