    serious question for all americans. People on another site may have 'scene' the break down of title fights between british and american boxers over the past twenty years. If you did see it you will know that british fighters have won more title fights vs americans by a very wide margin over the past twenty years...why is that?

    It's not just boxing where the US rules.
    They dominate the NFL and NBA too,and they always win the World Series.
    And Margarito was born there,so I never bought that Mexican bull**** that he was theirs.
    Total domination.

    You're asking for trouble with that last line mate,but I'm not choosing to disagree with you.
    I'll pass on it.

    I just thought that the "all great pros were great ams" point was open to contradiction.
    But if you're only talking about Americans,there's less exceptions.
    But still a couple.Many of the great Mexicans had no amateur career to speak of,but as I said,I don't know if you meant Americans.

    You meant "in general" but you said "ALL".

    Do you order whole chickens from the butcher and then come back looking for a refund saying "Yeah, I only wanted a thigh..."?

    All =/= part.

    You can have a slice of pie, without having eaten the whole pie. You can bed two sisters, without having also bedded their mother, aunt, and gouty one-legged uncle.

    Some is different from all. They're similar concepts, as neither is "none", but they are not interchangeable.

    It's alright, not everybody has access to our world-class public education system. Your ignorance isn't your fault, it's circumstances!

    Thank goodness for the US-of-A and our ethos of generosity and sense of charitable responsibility. The Russians? They wouldn't correct you. They'd let you just stew in your philistine juices like a boiling cabbage and fall hopelessly behind, while they laughed all the way to deep space.

    The entire Garcia family of Oxnard, too.

    Mikey actually holds a victory over (unrelated) Danny Garcia. His uncle and noted trainer Robert actually fought a young Oscar De La Hoya on very even terms.
