Wlad wants to hold on to his title as long as possible without any risk, because once he loses his title all that big money fights will go, he rather take no risks.

I agree, and these are among the reasons that NOT All champs are the Real Champs and it's time we stop jumping on the Hyperbole Bandwagon in support, but call them for what they are, Some ARE Great Champions and in many a case likewise some of the Contenders were as good or BETTER .

Wlad just needs to fight the worthy contenders out there, I don't mind once in a WHILE WARM UP FIGHTS, but now its going too far.

Povetkin: going to purse bid, will be delayed until summer, will pull out AGAIN if Sauerland doesn't win the purse bid

Pulev: promoted by Sauerland, different TV contract

Helenius: promoted by Sauerland, different TV contract

Fury: he may or may not want the fight himself, but his trainer said "not yet" a couple of days ago

Boytsov: involved in a promotional dispute


So for various reasons, the 28-0-1 Pianeta (BoxRec #17, WBO #9) is one of the best available opponents. I'd sooner see Wladimir fight one of those five top ten heavyweights mentioned above. Wladimir would prefer to be fighting one of them, but the situation is what it is.

 

All of these guys combined probably still don't have as many fights as Wladimir. You're bringing up fighters with 17 professional fights, get the hell out of here with this nonsense.

I just don't see what's so hard for guys to understand.

Its like posters on here think wlad can just look at the list and say "him" and its done. Many of the top dogs are in position or a fight or 2 away from being in position for a MANDATORY fight. Why fight a voluntary, for less when they are close to a Mandatory?

 

35-0 (soon to be 36-0) Malik Scott wouldn't turn down a fight with Wlad.
