No it's not ALL of Australian boxing that is bad, however this was a pretty high profile fight by Australian standards and therefore it has a huge impact in tarnishing the sport within the country.

Who had the authority to do this?
Why didn't everyone who should know, know?
    Why was it done?

Thats Ref was the worst ref I have seen in a long time, he had no control, he was lettign SBW hold all night, he was letting botha do his double punch crap repeatedly, he couldn't break the fighters up.

I think Bothas claim of bribes offered is nothing compared to the SBW camp member claiming Botha had two drugs found during a drug test, when there was no test done.

The double punch thing is LEGAL.

many did it against clottey and hot in trouble with the referee but should not have. You could hear on the TV Tony telling mik akkawy in sbw corner that the pouch is allowed..

    Which it is.

Itst he same as slapping someone, Gairy St Clair does it alot and gets warned everytime, I have seen fighters warned for it on many occasions...if it is legal then maybe someone should be telling the refs, either way he was a joke of ref and couldnt control the fighters at all

Exactly - I hope something's going to be done about the falsified test results - funny how that seems to have been swept under the carpet :think

i watched the fight last night
im no expert but even i know the standard counter to a straight left jab is a right over the top
and botha knows that to and when he decided to do that he had the fight won
untill that point he was only sparring
he was never in any danger
seen better fights in the cribroom at work when a new guy sat in billys chair ---he went ape****
