Getting gifts in his last 2 fights. On the decline. Ducking pulev. Got slaughted by VK. Adamek is and never will be anything special at HW
But he gets chances to fight ranked guys and earn himself another title shot, yet he runs away to fight in Poland for money? I mean, how is this any different than David Haye? Haye runs his mouth, sure, but his detractors always rabble on about him never "earning" his shot to fight Vitali and dismiss him fighting Chisora for money. Yet these many of these same detractors - you know of whom I speak - also love Adamek, who is doing the exact same thing: taking fights for money against subpar opposition in hopes that maybe Wladimir will, out of the goodness of his heart and pocket, grant him a voluntary title shot. And I'm not even sure Adamek wants to fight Wladimir. Seems like he just wants to keep fighting blown-up cruisers and chase rematches in Poland. :dead
He maybe past his best and clearly on a decline for a few fights now, but to say he is irrelevant is absurd.
Adamek has fought a whole bunch of contenders , 2 big names in a row and keeps winning he has also fought a klit and proved that he will fight any hw out there why fight someone who he has no need too, adamkes right behind the klits at this point
That's a pretty wrong interpretation. Haye did avoid Vitali for the money originally. The argument is actually pretty solid even as an Adamek fan. Adamek still fights on a consistent basis and his opposition is better than every other HW contender. People want Haye to actually prove himself to more competition. If you want to do comparisons with Haye and Adamek resume wise, then I'd just look at the fact that Haye has never fought anyone as good and fast as Chambers/Cunningham. Haye cherrypicks and fights slow fighters. Adamek fights big tall guys and slick fast guys and still has beaten everyone. Every boxer is in it for the money but they do have to earn their shots. Nothing is earned by losing and then beating one guy in a span of 2 years.
He is relevant and this is why he can get a big money fight against Artur Szpilka in Poland. If he got stopped by Pulev the demand for Szpilka fight would be much lower. His thinking is as follows: Fight an easier opponent for more money in Poland and still get relevant fights after that, instead of fighting a dangerous Pulev and when successful get slaughtered by Wladimir.
If one is asking if he is relevant, lets look at his last 5 fights and compare them with other current top HWs. Adamek: - Vitali - Aguillera - Chambers - Walker - Cunningham Pulev: - Pedyura - Walker - Sprott - Dimitrenko - Ustinov Povetkin: -Firtha - Chagaev - Boswell - Huck - Rahman Fury: - Firtha - Pajkic - Rogan - Maddalone - Johnson Banks: - Montana - Long - Bacurin - Firtha - Mitchell His opposition is clearly better than any other HW exept for Klitschkos. He lost to Vitali and Cuningham and struggled with Chambers but pulled it out without a doubt.
He's irrelevant now. Beating has-beens and never-were type guys. It's clear he's never gonna be a real force to be reckoned with, just a gatekeeper really, who gets props for fighting bigger guys.
He was until he turned down the chance to fight Pulev, i think his next fight in Poland will be his last.
