No Floyd fought Mosley a year half after Mosley beat Margo, and his fight with Berto fell through and Floyd had no where else to turn for a payday.

Mosley was available when Floyd came back from retirement (hiding) but he fought Marquez instead.

Your claiming Pac ducked Mosley ,the same Pac who wiped out Cotto, DLH, Hatton and Margarito in the span of 2 years after moving up in weight - 2 of those guys Floyd was scared shittless to fight, and one of which already beat a younger Mosley in 2007. :rofl

Even if MAY would have fought Mosley right after Margarito, it would have been the same result. Mosley beating Margarito was his last great performance but it was more about styles. Mosley got a second wind vs Margo but it still doesn't take away the fact that he was past his best. Mosley would never beat May at that age.

Why? Because Mosley was scheduled to fight Berto (the champion) and Mayweather was negotiating with drug test ducking Pacfraud! Berto got injured. Pac refused 50/50, 14 day cut off, and full random testing and... Mayweather fought Mosley. Pacfraud fought Clottey and the "commission" thought there was no need for drug testing.

Clottey also got a very sketchy purse doubling bonus and has never been seen in a Boxing ring since. :think

It was mega level. Bigger than Tito-Hopkins as far as sheer relevance goes. 2-1 odds, and Floyd as the underdog. closer on the P4P rankings than Hopkins/Tito

Floyd P4p in 99 was absurd but not when he fought Corrales.

Tito v Hopkins?? I said Tito vs Oscar. That's only based on opinion though.

He fought Corrales in 2001. I brought up the example of May in rankings for 99 because it was a joke. My point is that I don't care for rankings. They are not always accurate.

Ring has Corrales and May Top 10 P4P in 2000. They fought in 2001.

Hopkins and Trinidad also fought in 2001. Both were in the TOP 10 P4P list in 2000 and 2001. So I'm not sure how often the rankings change. I never brought up Hopkins vs Trinidad though.

Once again, IMO Corrales is NOT at the level of the fighters I named.

Corrales was as dangerous for Floyd as Cotto was for Floyd, in 2008. Corrales abd Floyd were both top 8 P4P when they fought in '01.

:rofl Based on what? Corrales didn't win a round. A damaged / way over the hill Cotto gave Floyd all he could handle. Prime Cotto would have beaten the crybaby up.

Corrales is not at the level of Cotto. Corrales advantage came from his size but in terms of overall skill, he doesn't compete with Cotto. We can compare resumes or just the fact the the smaller man in Mayweather was able to stop Corrales, while he couldn't stop a washed up Cotto recently. Was Corrales dangerous? Yes but not better than Cotto. So I have to disagree. Of course that's just my opinion.

Like I said, Not sure how often Rankings change but Corrales was not in the P4P list for RING in 2001 but he was in 2000. So I'm going to assume that you are basing it on the 2000 rankings since the fight was early 01. Still doesn't make it a MEGA fight for me. I respect your opinion though.

How is this thread still going? How can people continue to argue this crazy thought, or has it moved to another subject?

Let's also consider this; HOW THE **** did Corrales get in the P4P TOP 10 (#5 to be exact) in 2000?? Who did he fight? So you beat Angel Manfredy, and that's what gets you in the TOP 5 P4P list?? :huh

read the heading, as of May, 2001. Corrales/Floyd were before that.

What you just presented is exactly what I wrote. I clearly said "I'm assuming you were talking about the 2000 rankings since they fought early 2001".

You're still missing my point though.

    1. Rankings are flawed. Example - How did Corrales get in the Top 5?

    2. Corrales is NOT at the level of Cotto.

    3. IMO Corrales is NOT a MEGA/SUPERIOR fighter than the guys I named. Therefore I don't consider it to be a MEGA fight.

Cotto and Corrales have identical resumes almost. Both have deep resumes and lostt to the very best fought.

Corrales got on the list because of his dominance at 130, stopping unbeaen Garcia, destroying Manfredy, destroying Gainer, shutting out Brown, beating Casamayor, etc.
