In all honesty, if Floyd couldn't get lower than 146 against Marquez, that doesn't make him a junior welter anynore, does it? Floyd ever since his return has always been a legit welter the jr,welter nonsense has to stop. Marquez wasn't even a jr welter ffs he was moving up from 135. Its alot harder for a smaller guy like him to get accustomed to 147 than it is for a larger frame like Floyd. Not saying Jmm would beat Floyd, but at least give him a fair shot next time. He has better chances now. The last couple of rounds he wasn't looking too bad vs Floyd and wasn't so one sided as some make it out to be.

JMM beat manny 3 out of 4 and dismantled him in one of those 3.

JMM respects Floyd and is merely saying that Floyd is choosing to avoid unnecessary risks. No reason to blow it out of proportion. JMM is literally syaing what Floyd himself has said MANY TIMES: "Legacy don't pay the bills". So Floyd fights for money and not legacy. JMM fights for legacy and money, but I'd argue moreso legacy.

Either way, there's nothing wrong with what JMM said.

So according to Marquez, Mayweather is a cherry picker. His recent example of this is that he feels Mayweather will duck Guerrero, a guy many fans claim is a cherry pick for Mayweather. Ironically, Marquez avoided Guerroro when Guerrero was his Mando. Boxing is crazy.

    BINGO!

Marquez' respect for Mayweathers skill is huge. Marquez calls Mayweather the best p4p, but at the same time admits that Mayweather avoids challenges when it stylistically may not suit him.
Mayweather has'nt fought all comers and Marquez realizes this.

You know Marquez does'nt have an agenda on his opinion. He's become an honest boxing commentator/analyst for ESPN Deportes.
He's on record as stating Mayweather would easily handle Pacquiao's aggressive style because Mayweather is the best at it defensively.

You have to take Marquez comment in context. Marquez is'nt favoring Guerrero to beat Mayweather, but I take it he's calling it a cherrypick if he chooses to figth Alexander instead of Guerrero.

Yes your dad is calling Floyd a cherry picker because he takes no risks. This is common knowledge.

He fought your dad because he wasn't a risk, instead of fighting Mosley was the WW champ at that time.

He avoided Pacquiao like the plague bc he knows he'd of gotten his ass whooped. Floyd only fights nobodies / old men / and young hungry no-hopers.

I have no problem with Marquez. I respect the hell out of him as a person and a fighter. However, you don't find crazy that he's basically accusing Mayweather of ducking a guy that just a few weeks ago many people were saying Mayweather was cherry picking? What's even more crazy is that Marquez avoided Guererro himself. If we're to agree with Marquez here, then we would have to say that fighting Guerrero would be an example of Mayweather taking a risk. Because that's what Marquez is saying. Of course, I don't know how Guerrero is a risk but fighting Cotto at 154 isn't a risk.

But he fought Mosley 9 months later in his very next fight. How exactly did Mosley go from risk to cherry pick in 9 months? Correct me if I'm wrong, but he was stil the champ when Mayweather fought him. I'm really confused here.

I don't know what Marquez is talking about, Devon would be a harder fight than guerrero.

You're not understanding. Marquez is calling it a duck if Mayweather were to bypass Guerrero to face Alexander instead.

If Mayweather were to announce he's fighting Martinez or Canelo at 154 lbs, I'm sure he's not going to say that Mayweather ducked Guerrero.

Given the names being thrown about for May 4th, I would say Mayweather is avoiding Guerrero if he were to chose Alexander instead.

Neither is PPV material, but most definitely I'd say a Mayweather-Alexander matchup would sell about 100K ppv. I honestly dont see it selling a ****ing buy more than 100K if he were to fight Alexander.

There is no reason even financially to fight Alexander, which is why it a duck of Guerrero if he does.
