You never know. Strangers things have happened

Arturo got in and he doesn't really have that kind of resume. Sure he's a fan favorite but still.

Leonard, with his years of experience will continue doing this and he'll be huge if he continues to promote fights and helps fighters get to the top.

wow this forum has come a long way in getting rid of rampant *******s.

70% know the deal, I'm shocked and happy with the forum at the same time....it's blatantly obvious what happened.

In other words you have no answer to what I said above? The predictable reply of someone who doesn't know.

So if Floyd offers $40m to Pacquiao what do you think Floyd's end would be in that fight, considering it was before the Marquez KO

Marquez???? A slow, Pudgy , moving up.from 135 Marquez who he was dominating, & dropped? Why come did he fight in safety mode against JMM??? Decent win, he was dominated the Marquez fight, but why not press for the KO against a guy who.posed little threat??

Some people would rather watch a fighter completely outclassed for 12 rounds where they have the entire fight to adjust, than a KO ending a fight. Those people tend to be Floyd fans. :thumbsup

Marquez also isn't exactly the easiest person to KO.

if anyone saw that fight they could clearly see Floyd wasnt goin for the ko
he woulda got so much hate from stoppin Marquez because of the weight issue so he carried him to make him still look tough

    Mayweather did'nt carry Marquez.
Had he let his hands free to seek a KO, that would have given Marquez the opportunity to land the counters that Mayweather is'nt accustomed to recieving.
With risk, comes opportunity for the opponent, and Mayweather was'nt having none of it against a master counterpuncher.

You saw how aggressive Mayweather got against lesser skilled Mosley and Cotto!
He went right after those guys and yet was reserved and more cautious against Marquez.
I thought I was looking a a replay of a Vlad Klitshko fight when I saw Mayweather on the outside reserved and mostly with just controlling distance with the jab.

Say he fought smart, but dont say that he carried Marquez because thats simply erroneous!

You go after Marquez and this may very well happen to any opponent below 147 lbs!

Got to hand it to Mayweather though, he ignores what fightfans want to see, and just looks after himself. He fought a much smaller aging lightweight by taking away his only opportunity to win. Not allow him the opportunity to counter.
How do you do that you say?
You simply use the fact that you're bigger, faster and stronger than he is in every way and dont get aggressive because that allows the master counterpuncher the opportunity he needs.

Want a lesson on that very fact????

    Samuel Peter vs James Toney!

Those guys fought twice, the first fight Toney picked Peter apart in a fight that was ruled a draw but most people had Toney winning.

What does the bigger stronger Peter do to embarrass Toney and beat him every second of every round in their rematch??????

He simply sticks to pumping the jab in Toney's face and not go seeking a KO. The result of Peter embarrasing the smaller, aging, way past prime James Toney!

.........and the difference in skill level between Toney and Peter is enormous.
Toney has more skill in his little pinky than Peter has in his whole being, yet the simple fact that Peter is bigger, stronger, and has a reach advantage over the "AGING" Toney was enough to do the trick!

That my friend is a "BOXING LESSON" to you!!!!
The moral of the parralel is that it is'nt always about "skill." Height, reach, size, and strenghth very well plays into the equation when its used the right way.

In my lesson to you, I showed how a bigger, stronger, more physicallly superior fighter in Peter, can beat a supremely more skilled but aging fighter in Toney by simply appying the right strategy when previously in their first fight Peter did not!

    CLASS DISMISSED!!!! :deal

There's a word for that. It's called 'strategy'.

    Deal with it.
