Maloney probably never offered him the fight, he just wanted to see if he was available. Towers perhaps got the wrong end of the stick and assumed it was a genuine offer to step in?

    Who's calling Towers a liar? I'm not.

You wouldn't be discussing a fight if something wasn't amiss with Thompson, that much is self evident. Whether its money or an injury, who knows

Apparently Thompson had some trouble with his medical forms and getting them here to the UK to the BBBofC offices. Maloney says it's been sorted now but he was probably just making sure that if the fight did end up falling through that he had a back-up plan ready. He's ****ing skint remember, if he had to cancel a big arena show like this it would probably send him under.

Thats fair comment but I wouldn't be surprised if Thompson didn't step into the ring

Fury should be worrying about a warm up before he has to face the winner of arreola/stiverne rather than the price Thompson fight.

Picking on a blown up cruiser in cunningham does nothing for me, there's plenty of durable euros that will take fury into the trenches, why not fight dimitrenko???

Frank Maloney "I'm not skint... I've got some big backers in Suffolk Metals". Haven't we all?

Tony Thompson's Official Facebook page doesn't make for encouraging reading that the fight will happen ... And that is from the horses mouth, so to speak!

Price Vs Towers would be a good fight, but not a weeks notice.

Apologies my hearing is going! The fact is Price needs a fight like this as I genuinely don't think he will blast Thompson out in two rounds- he needs rounds and a bit of roughing up at this stage.

Price would destroy him, regardless of how much notice he's given

Too many fighters consumed with their rivals careers rather than actually fighting their rival.
