Oh, I know that Cotto is past it and too small at 154. But a bunch of guys have begun to hype Trout up like he's the second coming since that fight. Right now, they're treating that fight as evidence Trout will whup Kid Ginger, but after that's over and Trout loses to Canelo, expect them to start saying that about Cotto.

If Cotto didn't have problems hitting Trout before he gassed, expect the much bigger, stronger, harder-hitting, and faster-handed Canelo to easily get off on Trout. More importantly, Canelo has a right hand, something Cotto didn't have as much.

Canelo by UD or TKO. Trout isn't going to be able to overpower Canelo in close range like he did Cotto, nor is he going to be able to tank his shots as well either.

 

Trout doesn't need to be the second coming in order to beat Canelo

I feel this will be a close decision win for Alvarez. So both fighters will leave with the respect from everyone.

 

After rewatching the Cotto fight I don't know what people see so special in Trout. He moves in and out at about half the speed of a Martinez and at times throws wide hooks that have very little power. Hes just begging to eat a nasty counter. For being a slick boxer, he does not appear that slick. I've seen many people of the forum ride with Trout over Canelo but i just don't see Trout as this slick boxing artist to UD Canelo, because i dont believe he has the power to stop him.


Seriously just watch this minute highlight from the Cotto fight and tell me again how his sick boxing is gonna snuff out Canelo, i just don't see it. On a side note look how slow COTTO is. good win for Trout but Cotto looked terrible. Canelo late stoppage or UD imo.

He's nothing special. I'll happily eat crow and sport that Trout Avatar if I'm wrong, but the Canelo hate is clouding people's judgment on this fight.
