Hard to imagine either one of them being knocked out or down even against each other, but i think maybe Gerald having a great chin and because he has a great chin will let him last a long time in there with Hagler may be the most telling thing because what if Hagler gets hit over and over by McClellan can he really stand up to those shots for the first few rounds? If it goes late then Hagler definatley but will he get the fight to go late Add also that McClellan would really rip to the body of Marvin
Different levels of fighter. The intimidator is intimidated and the end result is....Hagler by late rounds brutal ko
I can't see Hagler getting a brutal KO maybe a tko or something because McClellan would of tired out but i dont see Hagler having enough power to really knock McClellan out, maybe a kind of Mugabi type KO with McClellan too tired to get up, McClellan would of also been the bigger man by quite a bit and would be able to push Hagler around i believe which could also have some effect on the fight
McClellan would've destroyed Marvin Hagler! Nobody had heavier hands than the G-Man, and every time he landed a left hook to the body the opponent was down for a 10-count. The guy weighed 180+ in the ring as a middleweight while remaining chiseled, whereas Marv use to come in in the high 150s.
Who knows how good Gerald McClellan could have been. However based on what we got. I'm going with Hagler in this one.
Well with what we've seen i think it's pretty good -A very solid chin -Amazing power -Hard precise bodyshots (if he hits Hagler in the spot right between the ribs and solar plexus with his left McClellans signature punch which he could definatley land i dont see anybody being able to stand after that shot lands and will have a major effect over the fight) For me i think the biggest things going for McClellan would be his Punching power, Body shot accuracy and power, his weight and size advantage which Hagler might start to become a pressure fighter like he did against Hearns which i think would work very well for McClellan and his iron chin as well.
Much like Ali, Hagler does great against punchers. McLellan will be outfought, outscored, and finished. Probably on his feet.
Think of it this way though, Hagler vs Hearns exept -McClellan can take a huge punch bigger than what Hagler can give out in a single serving would take the fight for him to get him out -McClellan would go to the body like nobody has on Hagler before -McClellan would come in at about 180 ish and his height advantage along with his weight and physical strength advantage over Hagler could make a difference -I'm pretty sure Hagler would go pressure fighter like against Hearns and he cant knock out McClellan like he did Hearns so i see this advantaging McClellan as well
LOL. Given this guy's avatar, can't say I'm surprised. Hagler would have beaten the **** outta McClellan.
I am a bigger fan of Hagler by quite a bit, i still can't decide on who i think will win i'm still thinking Hagler cause i cant imagine McClellan knocking him out cause nobody ever did it but i'm stating why i think he might be able too but i'm not sure that's why i posted on here asking...
McLellan can't sustain Hagler's pace. The price you pay for having such a heavy body and delivering such explosive punches. It takes energy. If Hagler survives the first three rounds (and who thinks he wouldn't?) the match is his. He will do more damage on accumulation than McClellan with his outbursts.
Hagler was no defensive genius and McClellan was fast and very aggressive with incredible power, I'd wager harder than Cyclone Hart, Mugabi and Hearns. Also McClellan would be the biggest guy Hagler ever fought by far, most who met Hagler in real life said he was quite small, McClellan was a cruiserweight. I'd pick Hagler to win in a very hard fought war, but he won't be KOing McClellan. I think if McClellan fought the faded version of Hagler who fought Mugabi he'd probably beat him.
Pretty much agree with everything here :good The only thing is we cant imagine Hagler getting knocked down out cause it never happened but nobody is invincible, i personally cant imagine him being knocked down but he would be facing a real cruiserweight with amazing power height advantage speed body shots like hell and will be easily stronger than Hagler thats why im wondering if he could pull it off
