    Well, for one
He beat cotto more impressively then mayweather and didn't have any damage on his face afterwards like Mayweather :deal

He did beat Cotto more impressively than Mayweather did. My comment is more a reference to the fact that 1) Cotto was never great at 154 to begin with, and 2) is pretty faded now.

Trout beating a faded Cotto at 154 in 2012 =/= the god hype he's getting right now. Basically, Cotto is getting retroactively hyped up by Canelo haters the same way Cotto was hyped up as a rejuvenated murder machine before the Mayweather fight. Truth is, Cotto's been past it for anywhere from 3-5 years, and isn't fighting at a good weight for him either. It's not a hugely impressive feat for either guy, though Trout's win was more emphatic (I scored it 9-3 for Trout and 8-4 for Mayweather, but Cotto gave Mayweather a tougher time than he did Trout because Trout was much bigger and stronger than Cotto, while Miguel was noticeably bigger and stronger than Mayweather and used that to his advantage in the fight.)

Canelo is doing the right thing. He already won the first round by taking this step.
I don't blame him for being hyped and protected,a fabrication of GBP.He can carve his own path now by fighting the best out there. No shame in losing against the best.

Really respect Canelo for this move. Makes up for all the **** fights he has taken in the last year or so.

Exactly my thoughts. Trout is a really good fighter don't get me wrong, but I think Canelo is going to bully him to a UD.

Canelo has gone up in my estimation, he insisted on fighting the best despite the risk. Mayweather could take lessons from this guy

Canelo v Trout a much better fight than Mayweather Guerrero

Um, people are just picking Trout to beat Canelo. How does that translate to "The hype is ridiculous and unfounded."?

    :good

I think it's great he's not taking an easy fight, especially since we all know they would've easily put him in soft on the ppv undercard. No doubt this was his choice and not his promoters.

You do realize that they will be fighting on his undercard with a clear plan for winners to meet late this year?, jackass.
