Who gives a **** where they were ranked? Who else were out there? Nobody.
Bute and Lacy were highly ranked and feared but got exposed as soon as they stepped-up to elite level.
A good record is more important in evaluating the strength of a fighter than beating bum after bum after bum.
He dominated a lifeless era , still got beat and now that there are live bodies out there his name his attached to boxers nobody ever heard of.

:lol:so you're saying he beat all the highly ranked opponents out there but that his record isn't good as a result? and to be clear, the term "bum" is reserved for fighters you don't like/wlad has fought?

and what live bodies are out there that he isn't fighting? you're grasping at straws now and STILL have provided no reasoning on how rocky wins...

Rocky dominated an era of past middleweights and Archie Moore was an ex welterweight.
Imagine Wlad getting dropped by Oscar dela Hoya...

dino, we get you don't like wlad or his opponents. not gonna change your opinion there. but how the hell do you justify favouring marciano SO heavily? other than "wlad fought bums". you have to be seeing something we don't...like an extra foot in height and 8 inches in reach. or great foot speed. or the ability to slip a world class jab

Ive seen him crumble everytime from shots to the body and relentless aggression and Rock was one of the hardest punchers in history.
Rock said- why go 15 rounds with somebody when you can take them out in 1.
If Rock knows his opponent cant take a shot hes going to pile on the pressure to chop him down or he will die trying.
No personal ref will be present to save him from the slug fest Rock will turn the fight into and he will be physically and mentally cut down to the canvas.

I'm glad they changed their mind on that stupid mismatch. Fighting chisora at that point was on of the worst cherry picks in hw history. Thank god they saw sense.

I dont think wlad is unhittable, I think rocky will struggle to hit him though. More to do with size and frame then anything else.

They saw sense and picked old Mormek who was inactive for 2 years and had big bro take on Chisora.

Nobody considered Ray Mercer any less of a scalp when he had the hep.

Brewster was very hot and cold, and liable to be outboxed by not especially great opponents. Hell of a puncher though, and tough as nails. Would have performed very well in the 70s I think, given his mental and physical attributes. Would no doubt be much more highly regarded than he is today.

Hard to say if he goes through Rocky's resume unbeaten. On paper he should be too tough and powerful to take a loss, but he had a tendency to make things a lot harder on himself at times. I'd say one of the big three could have taken him on points at some stage, though Brewster would have been seen as an absolute monster back then.
