Could you explain why Ted Kid Lewis isn't on there at all, that seems insane.

I also think Britton is too low, that man was utterly remarkable and the number of elite wins, sheer volume of fights having the most recorded fights ever, remaining elite until his 40's beating guys like Walker and Leonard when he was in his late 30's and arguably the greatest chin ever he seems to be getting overlooked, genuine freak.

Read the OP and you'll see Lewis is in Tier VII.

Nah, it was Leonard coming on strong. Even if it was more due to Britton tiring, Leonard was hurting Britton late in the fight. Reports vary from Britton winning by a big margin to 'only' winning seven of the twelve rounds before the dubious disqualification. Apparently Leonard didn't show up for that fight, or perhaps it was a great Britton performance (likely). They were both superb boxers. Leonard won twice before, however.

On your second point; there is some psychology involved. People at the time didn't quite realise how **** Dempsey's career was. They were more concerned with his image and that is the raw truth of it; hobo turned hollywood. Rugged good looks, perfectly proportioned, grisly and aggressive with that all-American, brawling, predatory style. They lapped it up. That said, I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone saying Dempsey was better than Leonard, but I'm ready to be proven wrong.

Not to say Dempsey was crap, of course. He was ****ing awful! Nah, I'm joking. He was easily the shittest of all time. Just kidding. He shouldn't have existed.

What's the criteria? My immediate reflections are SRL and Ross above Burley and Holman Williams.

I agree with the sentiment of most with Benny over Ali, but at least he's in Tier I.

Are the Tiers ranked? Fitzsimmons at #2 seems a little maddening if so. I'd have both Armstrong & Robinson above Langford and Fitzsimmons but that's just me.

Louis can not in an terms be ahead of Willie Pep on a P4P list. In fact, I don't see how Moore can either, but I wouldn't have Moore ahead of Duran either.

I like Jimmy Bivins but is he really Tier V? What makes him so high exactly? Ahead of Loughran, for example?

I too agree with Little Red with Spinks swapping Hearns spot.

I just noticed Mayweather over Pacquiao. :|

To make an argument. Everyone has their foil. Ali had Norton, and Pac had Marquez. In terms of achievements and record, I think Pac's still triumphs Floyd's undefeated record. After all, how do you justify Ali's Tier I placement with his struggling of Norton when many others fighters below dominated their divisions far more conclusively (I'm slightly playing devil's advocate). I know Ali was past his prime. Same goes for Pep earlier too, and he masterfully outpointed Saddler conclusive in one bout past his prime. And Saddler P4P is superior to Norton or anyone Louis lost to or had trouble with (Schmeling, Conn, Walcott. Although Conn maybe but he was much smaller so no). Considering his two great lengthy undefeated runs/streaks I can't see how he is so low. That turned into a disoriented rant

You're wrong on this one. I'll give Duran-Moore up to the Gods of subjectivity considering they have different forms of quality. But Pep. Naw, hell no. Pep's undefeated streaks seems sold short. We're talking arguably the greatest pure boxer here. Moore was bettered by superior adversaries multiple times. He showed himself a fighter, but never really did as the most superior or dominant one. Pep at least past his prime masterfully outpointed his adversary, and even then the other bouts where full of rough-house **** that basically cost Pep decisions.

Maybe Spinks might lack the depth, but he dominated the LHW division for nearly five years. Goes up and defeats a consensus top 10 HW in Larry Holmes. Becoming the second man to win both LHW and HW championships (Correct me if wrong). And he didn't just go up and beat some guy with a belt (Ruiz), he beat the regarded man of the division. And not just once, but twice (Albeit controversially).
