Sturm has massive hands, below average power for a top MW.

Surprised how small Marciano's fists were. Always thought he had big hams.

Most feather fisted boxers have girlish hands. Most hard punchers or heavy handed fighters have big strong hands.

Fist size means A LOT when it comes to power.

Foreman only 12 inches? That list has no credibility. Foreman has probably the biggest hands in boxing history.

Bigger fists only matter if you have the knowledge, speed and ability to laugh the projectile correctly....your fist is like a bullet..you need something to launch the projectile to make it matter...but if all that falls in place you have a damn good weapon

I'm sure that massive fist had nothing to do with his power.

My thought also. Someone on here who shook hands with him said his hands were the size of catcher's mitts.

Wrist size also would be a factor. There was an article about it on here someone posted a while back.

It only means how hard you can punch without breaking something in your hand.

That came from a 1983 list of all champions to that point. Lennox is supposed to be 12 as well and I shook his hand and he had huge hands.

I've always wondered this too. All these people pointing out fighters with big hands and average power and/or fighters with small hands and big power are going about it all wrong. I don't think anuyone is implying that fist size is the end of it all. The question is would a bigger fist equal to better power. For example, what if Marciano had a bigger fist, could he have possibly had an even better punch?
