Hagler would have tortured McClellan..Gerald would have probably wished that he'd be put out of his misery.

I don't think any version of McClellan we saw would beat a prime Hagler.

But if anyone could floor Hagler it would be the GMan. But Hagler's durability would mean McClellan's greatest asset his power would not be the big advantage it was against most of his opposition.

Hagler was the more skilled fighter, better inside, better defence, better stamina and more proven at an elite level.

While McCellan had a lot of offensive weapons in his arsenal, the jab, height, size, crazy power and vicious body shots. He was a flawed fighter. He was too easy to hit, he didn't control range with his jab effectively and was open to counters.

Hagler could be out boxed and out sped but that's not McCellans style. First six rounds he gives Marvin hell but Hagler grinds him down and stop him late while still on his feet.

I don`t care how hard everyone things McClellan hits, he ain`t hurting Hagler. Who`s chin was formed of true granite. Hagler was alos, much more versatile, could seamlessly switch form orthodox to southpaw. Had better overall boxing skills, and I think would prove to be more durable in a long fight. Hagler lt rd stoppage. By just being overall more effective and all around better fighter than the Gman...

G-man might have had a better chin than Hagler...
A dehydrated man that took flush shots from Julian Jackson is a guy who has a chin made of granite.

If Hagler stops him it's because G-man his stamina issues, as his chin is extreme.

G-man took flush shot after flush shot he would have taken them against Hagler too.

    I know Hagler will win.

Gerald might die in the process, dehydration of 20 lbs + an attrition puncher like Hagler is a very bad combination.

Hagler also had a higher "damage output" than Benn.

Whatever happens to Gerald, his chin was never the limiting factor.

"Gerald McClellan is the most talented fighter I have ever worked with. And he had the ultimate chin... We had him sparring Tommy (Hearns) when he was just 16 because he was so assured.. Tommy caught him with stiff jabs giving him a bloody nose and was speaking into his ear.. the next thing we know Gerald threw off his headgear and was cussing as he charged at Tommy with straight rights and lefts, now Tommy is a survivor with an instinct so he threw his best right hand.. it was an awesome punch, the most awesome punches are unleased under pressure - Gerald walked straight through it!"

Benn was a much more dangerous banger than Marv.

The reasons im giving McClellan a chance is because
-He has an amazing chin when he was hit by Jackson and Benn it looked like nothing happened to him he just looked at them as calm as could be.

-His power he would come in as a Light heavyweight and hits as a light heavyweight so i think maybe just maybe he could get Hagler out i think it would take a man out of Haglers weight to knock him down or out id say the chin department is even though, if it goes past mid fight then Hagler would win and i'm sure of that but im not so sure that Hagler could make it there although its hard to say Hagler will get knocked out cause we've never seen him knocked out or down before

You are hilarious !! Better chin than Hagler !! Who`s only visit to the deck was when Roldan pulled him down, back of the head. GMan couldn`t have got through the Philly iron that Hagler beat before the title... Hagler is on the list of all time great middles ...Hagler would have laughed at Jackson`s attempts to hurt him ...Hagler had one of THE best chins in th hostory of the sport, thats not even debatable ...

Nothing outrageous about suggesting a natural cruiser who was never seriously hurt or decked didn't have a better chin than a natural middle who was never seriously hurt or decked. To suggest hagler would laugh off jacksons bombs however is foolish.

I'm not sure that Jackson hit significantly harder than Mugabi. Or harder than Cyclone Hart, period.

I'd say chin even probably, even if you do give it to Hagler, Hagler couldn't get McClellan out with one shot he would have to wear him down over the fight but in the process McClellan will be getting his shots off...
    Power to McClellan
    Size and strength to McClellan
    Body punching to McClellan
    Stamina to Hagler
    Counter punching to Hagler
    Faster starter to McClellan

But again i think Hagler would pressure McClellan and would play into McClellans hand and even if he didnt McClellan would still do well against him, depends if Hagler can get out of the start of the fight
McClellans only chance i'd say would probably be within the first 4-5 rounds

And it's impossibe for G-man to not rank with the best too?

Hagler wouldn't laugh when he got hit by Julian Jackson, he had more than enough respect for Roberto Duran already, he would probably outbox Jackson before Jackson his weak chin gives up.

Hagler wasn't a crazy brawler, everything but.
