Cherry switches to a Philly shell and jabs up at Escobedo. A few shots dropped in up top by Escobedo darting in before sliding quickly back. Lunging overhand right to the jaw by Cherry. The ref warns Cherry for roughhousing in a clinch just before the bell. I'm not sure what the infraction was. Shaking Escobedo, maybe?

Escobedo is driven to the ropes by Cherry's straight thrusts, and then jumps in to hold and gets his back scraped with Cherry's right glove until a clean break is demanded by the ref. Cherry leads with hooks and jabs walking Escobedo down, falling a bit short. Left hook by Escobedo while circling wide to his left, caught on the open palm of Cherry's right. Cherry again works the body in the clinch until the break is called. Escobedo ducks a hook and grabs Cherry around the waist. Cherry stalks, alternating between the Philly shell and high guard. Left hook by Escobedo. Clinch. Break. Clinch. Break. Jabs by Cherry, as Escobedo lifts some uppercuts to the diaphragm while ducking low.

Round 6

Escobedo moves in and pinches Cherry's head between his forearms, remaining locked up with Cherry held still for half a minute. Escobedo's legs buckle from a long hook. Escobedo is on his bike. Cherry comes forward and jabs. Escobedo dives in and holds. Cherry spanks him with a right to the kidney. BIG loose whipping body shots by Cherry until Escobedo holds again. Cherry sticks the jab marching forward. Escobedo ducks under a hook and grabs Cherry's waist. Break. Cherry rolls out his jab, tripling it to close the distance. Left hook around the gloves by Cherry. They trade hooks in the pocket, Cherry going to the body while Escobedo goes high. Cherry follows up with a looping right while Escobedo is finishing his motion - bang on the chin! Escobedo down hard again!! He beats the count. BIG CHOPPING RIGHTS BY CHERRY!!! ESCOBEDO TUMBLES ONTO HIS FACE!
