Why Does Broner Get Watched Under Such A Big Microscope?

It's easy to cry Racism. Truth is every successful fighter gets criticism. It's a sign that you are doing something right in fact. Ring putting him that high p4p so early doesn't help either. He looks a bit difficult to connect with during his interviews as he is obviously not himself. As long as he challenges himself against top opposition I'm on board. He reminds me a bit of James Toney with his crisp counter punching style. He has great opposition at 140 and he can take part in some memorable match ups against the guys over there. If he is going to beat a great legacy he will define it at that weight class at is very deep. 147 seems shallow to me at the moment.

 

After Broner defeated demarco many people assumed Broner would walk through 140 with ease. After tonight, all we (Broner critics) are saying is he'd have a hard time if not get KOed against a top fighter at 140. Obviously he can prove his critics wrong but conventional wisdom says when you open yourself up to get hit, sooner or later you will get caught by someone who can crack.

HBO is hypin him up big time, he calls himself a future hall of famer, annoys the **** out of people with his corny act, and just struggled with a fighter well below world-championship level. You're missing the point. GGG and Matthyse aren't acting cocky/rude and setting the expectations unreasonable high by running their mouths. ESB might be doing that for them, but you generate a lot more hate by being an arrogant **** yourself (see Khan, Hamed for example).

All fighters will have haters, but if they always act the part of the arrogant ****, then don't be surprised when everyone gets on their case, especially if they are being billed as the next big thing and have already had a couple of dodgy decisions.
