Wlad v Dempsey

Didn't Demsey refuse to fight Langford..

 

i think his one punch power gets a bit overrated. it was speed and ferocity that did it. that's what it looks like on film and that's what jack sharkey said. i'm sure he'd hit wlad but he'd be reduced to single digit punches by the fourth...and dempsey didn't have the raw power to get it done with that connect rate

 

he is swinging like a tough man competitor after willard is hurt bad.....his initial left hook off the dempsey roll is smooth as goose ****.


Sanders looked pretty ****ing wild while he was knocking Wlad around the ring like a ****ing pinata

yes i know..sanders is bigger than dempsey..he still looks sloppy as **** after wlad is hurt.

 

Sanders actually fights a bit like Dempsey at times, very straight backed, throwing quick somewhat crude looking shots from the hips.

He doesn't have the low slung bobbing swaying movement of course, but when he goes on the attack there are distinct similarities.

Harsh to say he looks sloppy as **** though. Sanders could be very sloppy, but his shots here are crisp and compact. He's certainly no Max Baer in the so crude it's hilarious category.

 

Yeah i know...when a guy is staggering around good to get knocked out and not looking like he is able to punch back its not the worst thing in the world to go a bit wild and load up on some shots. and yes he did look decently compact before he hurt Wlad...same as Dempsey looked compact before he hurt Willard..hence my point.

 

He's got a very ingrained clinch reflex though. Sloppy aggression might overwhelm him but it might equally well result in you getting tied up and gassed out, which would not be a good place to find yourself in. Sharp, educated combos with a lot of rough stuff on the inside seems the way to go. Don't let him breath, don't let him reset.

 

Comparing jack Dempsey considered the greatest hwt of all time for 50 years and considered the best by such astute boxing professionals as Arcel, Stillman and Tunney just to name a few to an absolute nothing like Sanders is close to an all time low. Just incredible.

 

that first thing that i think is that wladimir is much bigger, stronger, more athletic, much more modern ...but with these old school tough mother****ers who knows, it is all speculation. maybe wladimir would kill him like an insect or maybe dempsey would show how much tough were the old school fighters and would knock him out with a left hook

 

Any changes in this one ? After Wlad´s last fight ?
