Meh. I think enough people are pitching in, and enough debate has been created, that this thread is a massive success.

I've enjoyed it immensely thus far.

I guess what I want is for someone to say where Spinks should be placed and why rather than someone saying he should be on the list. I think last time I did a list he was around 50, so I'd be happy to see him morph onto the seventh teir, and that is likely what will happen by the looks. Someone, I can't remember who, mentioned him as being alongside Hearns and that saw him introduced to the holding pen but nothing since then really.

This is asking a lot given the # of fighters I guess.

Well I'll take him over Hearns, dominance, less jittery and the win over Holmes>Hill

I think given the inclusion of mayweather we should really see de la Hoya no lower than the holding area.

He was nothing special at sfw but he was the top lightweight for a while, top light welter, top welter and top light middle basically moving up until he found his ceiling.

Well I rank Mayweather a good dun above Oscar; but that doesn' treally exlcude Oscar being placed on hold. If it fans out into a hundred we'll find his spot.

Have you done a "best in the world" lineage, in a p4p sense? Like your weight-division thing?

No I will get to it eventually but right now I'm just ironing out my divisions by watching close fights that saw championships exchange hands.

I would say Marquez should be in the mix but that depends entirely on how you score his close fights I reckon.

I think Marquez is going to be a big problem in fact.

In fact I might rip out Mayweather, Pac and Hopkins and give active fighters a miss.

I think the same, I had it 7-5 and logic dictates that a better version of oscar does better meaning at worst I'd be picking a draw but more likely I'd be picking an oscar victory.

I would pick Oscar to win h2h, but I do think, for once, he has a nice style advantage, which is weird...still, I have to respect Mayweather's status. He's been tehe best fighter in the world for how long? Even if Pacquiao overhauled him for a short stint it's a nice period of upper-tier eliteness, for want of a better word. I would quite like to see a comparison to Oscar's stint on top though.

    Oscar was p4p top 3 96-99

Floyd has been p4p top 3 since 2004 (barring his retirement).

Floyd has definitely got the edge in longevity and dominance but a valid argument can be made that he hasn't tested himself to the extent oscar has.
