Do we have enough Tyson love between us to warrant a place in the holding area?

If Tyson is in then you would also have to add larry Holmes and definitely joe Frazier

Has Ricardo Lopez been mentioned yet

I could see him sneak in between 90-100 on a resume/achievement/ability mixed criteria (which is what I use, admittedly the last one is more 'HOW did they beat their opposition' to whittle out those that are just aesthetically pleasing) but whether or not it would meet McGrain's requirements? Not sure.

But he has the only win, a 1st round K.O no less, over a fighter we've ascertained is one of the 100 greatest P4P in history.

    Not quite McLarnin-YC3 though ;)

    **** Lopez.

And yes I'd agree, except I have Forema, Holmesn and Tyson>Frazier.

Marciano made it. Why can't Mike?

Good points. Opposition comparison is fairly poor.

I don't see Holmes or Frazier as better than Tyson though so that wouldn't be an issue for me.

I'll take Larry over Mike by a place in my HW rankings as of today but he's definitely the most overrated HW great for me. Mainly because everyone still thinks he's under appreciated so go overboard with complimentary stuff about him when they haven't rewatched the 'Spoon and Williams fights for nigh on 30 years ;-)

I see both as better than Tyson , but for this list I was thinking more along the lines of Frazier beating Ali and Holmes beating norton are better than any wins Tyson has.

Frazier beat quarry I would give quarry I good chance of beating any of tyson's victim's

Oh and Flea as much as I like Lopez I would not go as far as ****ing him :thumbsup

Tyson KOing Larry Holmes (only stoppage loss of his career) and Spinks (only loss) at such a young age in that fashion make them equal wins to the ones you mentioned (okay not Frazier-Ali I but Holmes-Norton doesn't deserve to be mentioned there)

Tyson's ko of Holmes must be a personal thing as I don't get that excited about after all it's a very much faded Holmes who doesn't even really look in great condition either . That Holmes would of struggled to beat moorer who I consider to be a very weak heavyweight champion

Still went on to get some cracking results, including Mercer, another hitter who couldn't finish Larry.

I still think Holmes was telling the truth when he said he was not ready for Tyson and had not been able to prepare properly and for me his later results/ displays confirm this .
