I don't really give him that much credit for wins against Pavlik and Winky Wright, they had to change weight by 10lbs to make a fight with Hopkins.

Joppy is also a good win.

 

May break the top 50 w/ a legitimate win. Although I'd be surprised if Hops enters this bout with the intention of actually fighting.

Who are numbers 1 and two and from what sport? To answer the question I don't think it would jump him up any higher than he already is. I can't give you a number of where I think he should be on the all time great list, but he is for sure an all time great. I hope he does beat him and then retires as a champ, instead of sticking for more years than he should like Roy Jones.

 

Hopkins has done very well for his age. But he is also a cherry picker. Now more than ever.

 

One of the greatest middleweights of all time imo.

 

His last 4 fights have been against the top 2 guys in his division.

I know he's the oldest boxer ever to win a title, but I also thought he was the oldest out of any sport to win one. Who are the two in front of him. I don't follow other sports history enough to know.

 

Beating Cloud wouldn't add much if anything to his legacy based on Clouds current standing. Cloud is just another title holder with a style that suits Hopkins.

Only reason this fight is even remotely interesting is that Hopkins is so far past his best and is at an age where most should be retired long ago. Hell he's 17 years older than Cloud and Cloud hadn't even turned pro when Hopkins was at an age that most fighters are retired.

 

Anyone???? Bernard was 46 when he Pascal so who was age 47 or up when they won a championship?

I think the last list I made not long ago, I already had him in the 30-40 range, if we're talking "ATG lists." The problem with his resume is that a lot of his opponents were more name recognition than proven qualities at the weights they fought Hopkins. Not to say they aren't good wins, but Pavlik jumping two divisions from 160 to 170 when he'd never before? Not among his best wins at all. Obviously, a win over Cloud is big and a loss means virtually nothing at this point.
